I personally had a pryex baking dish explode. (this was Thanksgiving 2010) My DIL was visiting and put a just washed dish on the stove (the burner was warm from being used) it shattered and glass flew everywhere! Our Thanksgiving dinner was ruined, (no one was injured) but think about if a container of lye did this? It can and does happen so please dont use pryex for your lye container!
