Has anyone found where you can purchase the product interested in making for Christmas. Thanks

I do not know where you can get it. Just thought I would make some for gifts. Antibacterial soap for one of my co-workers or alcohol based like you get at Bath and Body works. Just looking for a recipe. Thanks

That stuff is so hard on your skin. Especially dry hands during the winter months. Regular soap gets the germs off just as well.

If you read the medical sites they are saying that anti-bacterial soap is not as effective as simply washing your hands with soap and water properly. There is also concerns that by using anti-bacterial this and anti-bacterial that we are creating superbugs which will not respond to antibiotics.

I did make a hand sanitizer that I carry around in my purse, but I certainly don't use it all the time.....

My son (paramedic) agrees....he's against antibacterial anything, although he does use the hand sanitizer at hospitals; doesn't have much choice.

Yeah I think they actually published research that stated they were largely ineffective.... I know in my own experience working in massage clinics, some dont even let you wash your hands between clients (thankfully i was wearing gloves all the time) needless to say I dont think theyre really effective... nothing like good old sooooooooap :) love that stuff :)

My daughter works in one of the top labs in the country and says the same thing all the time.

I was actually working as a First Responder when I learned this and it has stuck since. It just makes sense to me and one of the things that has stuck with me is that kids need to eat their pound of dirt a year to build up an immunity system. If we keep our personal space too sterile then our immunity system does not have the ability to withstand any type of viral or bacterial attack.....

Yeah I know not a popular attitude....

Hey - sounds good to me. :D

My sister used to be frustrated with keeping her house clean and picked up when her kids were young. Then she was given a plaque that said "Our house is clean enough to be healthy and dirty enough to be happy".

This almost brought tears to my eyes. My mother used to say everyone eats about a bushel of dirt in their lifetime. If we'd eat something not too clean, for example something we picked up off the floor, she'd just shrug and say, "Oh well, it's just part of their bushel." I sure miss that woman.

antibac soap

Your posts make me smile. When my kids got dirty I used to say "that's what antibodies are for." I do use basil essential oil in my kitchen soap. It has natural antibacterial properties and is said to be analgesic for cuts and scraps. I'm a newbie, signed up to find out about coloring soap.
