Well, I was trying to a little variation on the theme. The pumpkin colored one didn't go quite as planned because the darker layer before the stripe didn't sit still. Ah well. I learned not to try to pour such thin lines on the second. It looks better with the heavier stripes. Also, my green didn't show up unless I heavily colored the soap. THat's okay. They are still fun to do!

Orange one is scented with a combo of Black Tea and Tobacco & Bay Leaf and the striped one has only the Tobacco & Bay leaf FO.

Those are too cool- especially the top one! Did you reverse pour on the opposite side a couple times to get that look? Still working on colors for mine...
Cheers!

both are beautiful, but i really like the top one! +1 for creativity.. i've not seen a variation of this technique like your top one.

ya know what would be fun? to have our own soap challenge each month! admission is of course free... all in the name of fun :D

seven, that is a great idea!

maan......now I really REALLY need to get going with another try on tilted tiger stripe.....

these soaps are gorgeous!

I'm all for that idea, Seven! I think it would be fun to have a challenge that is not only to do the technique challenged, but to try to think of variations on the technique that put a little twist on it. That could lead to a lot of cool stuff.

Thank you for the compliments! I'm surprised people like the first one so much. I find it a touch too busy and think it would have been better to do the top and bottom striped but with a solid middle. Next time!

Love em! I still need to do mine from the challenge. Guess I'll have to whip it up tomorrow :)

lemme go ask one of the mods first. if we have the green light, i don't see why we can't have our own challenge every month.

@newbie
yea, sometimes that does happen. we don't particularly like a soap, but it proves to be a big hit with others :D

Wow, that was quick! You've already made two soaps and I haven't even picked out my colours yet! LOL... but is that a third tilted tiger I see lurking in the background behind the orange soaps? :D

I like the variation you did on the first soap! Very creative!

Yes you do, lpstephy! A new tilted tiger challenge round started just the other day (on the 13th) so now you are two soaps behind! The deadline for the first round is on the 22nd, so you better get busy, missy! Chop, chop!

eh? which 2nd tilted tiger challenge? did i miss something here, coz i sure hell wanna participate. are we doing the variation or what now?

Yes, this is round two! LOL The first challenge is the one lpstephy and I signed up to on your lemongrass soap thread (ending on the 22nd) and the second round started on my thread (on the 13th) where I posted pics of my soap entry for the first challenge! LOL Confused?

Edit: I asked you on the thread if you wanted to join, but you didn't reply, so I just assumed you had had enough of tilted tigers.

One of you master tiger stripe swirlers need to do a video of this because I tried it and think I failed :( I guess we will see when I cut in a day or two...

aahh okay now i get it :)

well come on now guys, what are ya waiting for? do it :p

lstephy, the technique is exactly like soaping101. Tienne posted the link on my lemongrass thread me thinks. which part are you having difficulty?

Yeah, I watched the video a couple of times but once I get done with the stripes is where it gets messy for me. I think even if it isn't as tilted like yours or Tienne, it will still be pretty because it was one of the most behaved batches for me :)
