Hello everyone :) Just wondering if Wooly's sell palm oil. I know Frymasta is actually palm oil but I don't think our Wooly's carries it :( Would it be in the same place as Lard and Copha? Thanks in advance :)

Yep, it'll be in the fridge in the same general area. My woolies doesn't carry it, I have to get it from our local IGA.

Mind you, it can get expensive buying palm oil that way!

I also have trouble finding it, and just bought some online. Its not at my local Coles, Woolies, Aldi or IGA. I did find some at one stage but it was a 20min drive away. It seems to be very variable as to whether it is available or not :)

Hi Vonna
Supafry is tallow, the no-name solid oil is tallow, frymasta (yellow wrapper)is palm oil. My woolworths don't sell frymasta but they do sell supafry and copha. I have found coles sells frymasta. But yes it is an expensive way of getting it, but it will get you out of a rut.

Hey Vonna, not sure if you have a Farmer Pats near you, but I stumbled accross both Frymasta and Superfry AND corn oil AND Soyabeen oil (the last 2 oils are very hard to get where I am so this was a big bonus for me)

I went to wooly's the other night and saw the copha, I was shocked, last time I brought the stuff it was 99 cents now it's like 2 dollars something :x

Yeah it's criminal how much prices have went up even in the last two years. I had a look online and I'm actually going back home next week to visit family (sunshine coast) and theres a supplier at Noosa that I'm going to go buy off of that way I don't have to pay shipping costs either :) Bonus!

I wonder if its the sort of thing you might find in ethnic foodstores? maybe an asian grocery store?
