When I first joined the group I thought some of the answers were a tad harsh and then I realized the wealth of experienced soapers with whom I was interacting and very quickly learned that humility is a real thing! So many here have so much more knowledge than I will ever expect to gain-especially when it comes to the “chemistry thing”!

^^Same.

And I will say, often I am responding to posts while I'm sitting in a Zoom queue, waiting for my cases to be called, with my brain in work mode, which calls for a very direct communication style with little "fluff." I try hard to remember to switch into "talking to my friends" mode, but it doesn't always happen. My apologies in advance if the resulting posts seem impersonal or less than friendly.

Because I know that about my own self, I do try to imagine others with friendly smiles on their faces as they are "talking" (writing their posts). That assumption of positive intent goes a long way towards keeping any disagreements friendly and courteous, at least from my perspective. :)

I have NEVER seen anything but kindness from you, @AliOop! Even your "direct and to the point" posts are friendly. It feels like the forum in general follows your example of thoughtful kindness. Thank you for your invaluable contributions to this amazing community!

@AliOop, no need for apologies. You are among the best people here, always quick to help, very knowledgeable, experienced, and kind. You were very appropriate with someone insisting it is okay to pour hot water over lye. You might have saved a new soaper from an injury.
