I just used confetti scraps from all the soap I keep in a big bucket. It's potluck. I used Smell the Rainbow FO because it's truly a rainbow of colors. I didn't want any vanilla to discolor. I added confetti soap on top.

Sunshine On My Mind FO - Nurture

My-eow first time using a scraper + a stamp (not counting my date stamp I use on the bottom of every bar). White and black are from random assorted soap scraps, while the orange is from this old batch:

I'll share the other cats (because obviously I didn't only make one...) in the general thread

My confetti soap ended up looking more like parchment paper, perhaps because the shreds came from a hot process re-batch soap. Even though the shreds were a pale blue, they seem to have leaked color into the white portion of the soap, so there isn’t much definition between batter and shreds. This was made with my Shea butter vegan recipe for both shreds and CP. The mica color, both light & dark, is Making Waves by Nurture. I went with a Hawaiian beach theme , so yhe fragrance of the shreds was Awapuhi Seaberry, and the CP batter was scented with Nurture’s 8th & Ocean.

I was up against a deadline when I had to be someplace and used my stick blender to rush the process with the white CP batter. Big mistake! It immediately accelerated to stiff mashed potatoes, despite blending for only a few seconds. I mushed and smooshed the shreds together with the white potato soap, then smashed everything into the mold. Not fun at all! Maybe smashing everything together is why I don’t have good definition between the white batter and the light blue shreds? Still, I ended up with nine bars of passable, usable soap, and I still am able to enter the challenge. Tomorrow I am going to stamp a pink lotus on the light blue portion of the bars, but it didn’t seem appropriate for the entry.

But let’s face it, sometimes one’s purpose is to make sure everyone else’s soap looks good. And the entries are outstanding, aren’t they? ❤️

These shreds came from my first complicated swirl attempt, which came out very muddy and overheated and was overall not quite what I wanted. In quilting they say there’s no ugly fabric, just fabric that hasn’t been cut into small enough pieces yet. Turns out that is also true for soap.

I did one batch with cut cubes and one with the output of running soap chunks through my small food processor. I much preferred the cut cubes so that’s what I’m presenting here. Plain white soap for the background, scented with Sea Salt FO from Brambleberry, which went quite well with the Midnight Waters FO that scented the original batch from which the shreds came.

Ever since this challenge was announced this idea popped in my head and I just couldn't get it out. Finally had some time a few days ago, so here it is:

Tribute to Fruitcake Soap

The fragrance is a blend of citrus EOs - orange, litsea, lemon, and lime. The black "raisins" was from some previous soap, the red and green "cheeries" I had to make and chop up.
