Advice please.

Ive made my dish soap recipe several times and all has been fine until todays batch..I've got orange pieces in my soap.

85% CO 15%castor 38% water.
Heated oils to 175F added hot lye
Added salt & sugar mix to lye water.
and yogurt when cooked. Looked like all was well. Until I unmolded.

Differences today:
1. New brand of yogurt (which I think is problem its cooked on pieces instead of blending in.)
2. CO is from a new supplier.
3. Tried a new PVC downpipe mold.
Any advice greatly appreciated.

I also would point to the yogurt as being the culprit. Probably got too hot and scortched, and the fat in it turned that orange color.

I have to ask why you use yogurt in dish soap? Doesn't the added fat cause a issue with film on the dishes?

Yes but I mold some of it in little bowls for gifts and wanted it to be more fluid to look nicer. Next time Im just going to leave it looking more rustic.

You can use the cold process method to make dish soap like this and get smooth tops.

Yes... but I love HP but for the 'sake of the soap' maybe I should go back to CP just for the lil bowl molds

Your HP does look fantastic BTW. I wouldn't be put off by the speckles.

Might rebatch with AC in some PCSF for mechanic soap and do another batch of dish soap as I like my dish soap clean n' white.
