I was wondering, do any of you add a bit of extra glycerin to your soaps for the moisturizing properties? I am thinking of experimenting in the next test batch by adding 5% and 10% extra glycerin. Just wondering if anyone has done this and what have been your experiences. I think one of the issues could be sweating.

I've added a small amount of glycerin in hand soap. I'm not sure it made a difference in moisturizing, but it does seem to boost the lather a bit.

Added Glycerin

I make HP and add 1/2 glycerin ppo at either trace or end of cook. I have found, that combined with 2 - 3% SL (to my cooled lye water), I have a much more fluid soap batter (for swirling) and a smoother bar.
