This is an idea of mine for Christmas, with Frankincense and Myrrh EOs. Anyone tried this? If so, how/when did you add it, and what were the results.

A friend of mine just got back from Korea and was telling me about a handmade soap she saw there that had real gold in it. I asked if I could see it, I know she uses HM because she buys from me, and she just laughed and said she didn't get it because it cost $125.00 US !!!!!!!!!
Put me on your Christmas list please

Hi both, thanks for the responses.
I think if your 'gold' tarnished it wasn't pure gold. Since I've started looking into this, I've discovered that some gold leaf is actually gold on base (how they manage this on that super thin leaf, I've no idea).
I've now experimented with a small batch, and so far so good....but time will tell.
Of course this would be so much better in transparent glycerin melt and pour.....just don't think I can bring myself to do it. I've recently been given a few samples of some of that; within hours of taking it out of the plastic, it was all wet and slimy; without even using it. Is that normal??
I'll report back in a week or two, as to whether the gold stays gold, or turns black

gold is a pure metal it shouldnt' tarnish, let alone turn black!

post photo's?

Try Brambleberry's gold sparkle mica. It looks great sprinkled on top. Here's my Winter Gold soap. It stays gold, but it does rub off. I very often have people leaving my booth with gold smudges on their noses.

It looks great under shrink wrap, though & stays put until it gets used.
