These are a couple soaps from a project of mine. I was trying to make a soap that looks like alabaster or marble and I thought it came out pretty well. It has some strange red oxidation that I can't explain, but that's okay.

The other one was an attempt to make a "cored" soap, for lack of a better word. It as made with BB Dragon's Blood and it is so dark, it looks like a hockey puck, but the coloring in the soap is really cool- very subtle but very interesting. I didn't expect it to be varied like it is. It's not my favorite scent but I may have to try it again just because of the intriguing look.

Okay, I must be a total idiot. I can't figure out how to get the picture in here, so I put in the links to the image shack thing. I'm apparently too old to understand this. Yikes.

I'm not sure I should say how I do it. It's rather unorthodox (read: not safe) and I might get kicked off the forum for even admitting what I do. I'm careful of course and haven't had any problems but... Okay, think blowdarts, and a safety reminder would include Clinton's famous line about not inhaling. Yes yes I know I shouldn't, but it's all for the sake of art, or something like that. Oh god, I just joined the forum- am I going to be banned?

Great looking soap! I love the streak effect in the first one.

Don't worry about being banned. If people were banned for not following safety procedures, there would be very few forum members left. I do respectfully suggest that you find an alternate on how you make your cored soap. Perhaps an all plastic turkey baster?

If I am understanding you correctly, have you ever tried a turkey baster with a squeeze bulb?

Are you asking me or newbie?

If so, I've only used a turkey baster on a turkey. :D But if newbie is blowing soap into a mold (which is my understanding but I could be wrong) then I'm concerned about safety. The thought of inhaling raw soap is scary. I didn't know what else to suggest as an alternative which would create enough pressure to force soap into a mold.

Washing your mouth out with soap indeed! haha!

LOVE the round soap. loooove it.

COOL! Really really nice and UNIQUE! Love them both

And for 'art's' sake ... Isn't that how all interesting stories begin LOL! But seriously - Now that you have the idea I do hope you polish your methods to come up with safer ways - b/c that's one fine soap!
Kudos!!
