Okay, after these two batches I've learned a lot, AGAIN. Too bad I have to learn everything by making mistakes  But anyway, despite that I think the first one of these is probably the best batch I've made so far. I love the jelly bean scent!

First of all, it's not a good idea to swirl in a mould you can't see through. However, it kinda worked this time, but I forgot to clean the new mould before using it and it slightly stained the lighter color :(

The plain cream-colored was the worst, it looked like cheese when I unmoulded it. So I did what I usually do to cheese, and peeled the colored layer off with a cheese-cutter  Unfortunately this left the soap looking very uneven and... well, you see. I just had to make it as cute as possible so that nobody notices the crookedness ;)

And then, note to self: NEVER buy ANY colorants or FOs from a local hobby shop, no matter what the seller says. I asked if the liquid colorants they sell are stable at high pH, and told her I was going to use it on CP soap. Sure, she stated, our colorants are fine for any soap. Yeah right!

This is what I got from their so-called black color. I used it a lot more than the instructions recommended as I didn't notice any difference in color when using smaller amounts. And this is the best it could do. At least it didn't go brown or anything way too hideous, but it's still something I did not try to achieve :p The scent is liquorice.

The problem seems to be that they sell mostly MP soap stuff there and the seller probably assumed that I was going to make MP also, I'm pretty sure she hadn't heard of CP or anything that has something to do with lye. That's a pity because I was hoping to get some other colorants or FOs from there later, but I think I'm going to order from the same trusted retailer I always use.

I think they look just fine!

And you know, it's really hard to get a good blue color. It's not what you wanted but you may be on to something. You did a good job with the grating.

They look so nice! And that even if that colorant didnt turn out black, at least you know you can get a decent blue from it. :D can always go back to get more of their "blue" colorant.

Mistakes are great learning experiences and all your soaps look wonderful with lovely colors and well done swirls. I especially like the ladybug and heart one. It's my favorite and I think it's very creative.

Love your jelly bean soaps. The colour is beautiful and I love the way you've swirled and done the two layers! Fantastic!

Thanks all! :) The best thing about the jelly bean batch is that it smells great. I can't wait to see how it works later, I'm going to cure it a long time in order to make it a bit harder. SF% is quite a bit higher than usually in my soaps, so it's a bit soft but it seems to turn out fine.

The liquorice batch then... It's ruined! The color, the hint of gray-blue color I got seems to fade and leave a chalky white color behind  I can't believe it! It also looks like that some of the soaps had some overheating issues, I'm not sure if it was due to the colorant. The result looks quite horrible :( It's curious that these changed so much after unmoulding, the pics have been taken right after they came out and now they look completely different. Blah, bad batch, I wonder if I should rebatch that. Then again, it already contains grated soap from a previous batch, so it'd be a double-rebatch for that...

Awww, it's too bad they changed...they really were super cute, especially the liquorice.
