Hi Everyone,

I have been using M & P for awhile and now would like to attempt to make my first CP GM batch. I would like a very basic recipe which I could use to add different essential oils and/or natural additives for different batches. Is there a basic recipe that I could stick to? I'm very new at this and have been reading up on many recipes and getting thoroughly confused :?

Thanks,

Melonie

If you are just starting out, maybe a GM isn't one to start with. IMO I would start with just a basic 1-2 oil recipe to get the feel of cp and all the different stages it goes through and then start on the more complicated ones. Not that gm is complicated per'se, but there are different steps and things to watch out for.
I believe there is a recipe section here. Maybe you can search and read there.
Good luck, and welcome to the addiction! :)

I am new to soap making also but found a wonderful, and easy recipe for GM soap at pvsoap.com. The only thing that I have done differently is mix my water and lye, using an ice bath, which will keep it cooler, then add my GM, which I freeze first. Just break it up into pieces, then add to the lye micture. Doing this you will get a nice soap without the discoloration. I have made several batches using this recipe and they have all turned out great. Hope this helps.
