i am very interested in how this soap turns out. Can laurel Nobilis be bought here in the states? im willing to try anything for thinning hair. If i am able to obtain it, how would i use it on my hair. beautiful soap by the way!

My Mountain Soap. It is hard to find the oil in the US. For thinning hair, mix it with sweet almond carrier oil and a bit of honey, then massage into scalp, leave for a few minutes and wash off. I heard some can be allergic to laurel nobilis but since it is mixed with carrier oil, it shd be fine I think.

The proportion I was given is - 75% laurel (oil from the fruits/berries, NOT the steamed EO) 25% Sweet Almond and a bit of honey. I suggest do a test patch to make sure you are not allergic, just to be safe. I have not tried this (not until my hair thins :) but was told it work?

wow, just realised there's a supplier in aussie that sells laurel berry oil... they have the oils from the leaves and the berries... but they're under essential oils? might grab a small bottle of the berry oil next time i come there again. read a lot of good things about aleppo soap, i so want to try and make some myself.

Here is a picture of my 100% laurel soap. I made it 2 days ago.

I will make 40/60(OO) ratio next wk when I get fresh lye next week and also make another 100% with new lye.

ps: this soap is glorious!

i agree with you , it is beautiful soap ..... in my mind i could imagine the scent . big congrats to you .

great done

i have this laurel fruit oil i collect it from farmers in south lebanon these trees are here found in nature and depend only on rain in that way we got a very good product really but it is expensive to make soap only from this oil so here we put olive oil cold pressed with a 25% of laurel fruit oil and also if the customer asked for more % of laurel fruit oil we can do it also.
