    My ULTRA ROOMY Drying Rack

What an excellent idea! Thanks for sharing the pic! I've just emailed the pic to my husband to "plant the seed" for a little building project for the upcoming Easter long weekend. Would you please confirm how it's held together - it appears to have each shelf double nailed at...

    The New Guy...

Gidday Tarren Good on you for jumping in to have a go at soap making. I regard myself as relatively new to the whole deal as well - been making now about 9 or 10 months or so. I stick with basic CP goats milk soap in cavity molds (unfragranced and uncoloured) and happy to say I'm now...

Non fragranced goat milk lotion - smells a bit sour?

Thanks for your response Lindy. Of the ingredients, goats milk was 75% with no water. Interestingly I found another goat milk lotion recipe on this forum. The recipe was not that unlike mine, except the goats milk and water together made up about 75%. So perhaps that's the clue - dilute it...

Non fragranced goat milk lotion - smells a bit sour?

A few months ago a friend showed me how to make goats milk lotion using fresh goats milk. She generally makes scented ones, but I wanted to roll with non-fragrance and non-coloured - keeping as simple as possible. The first batch (a few months ago) seemed fine, then recently I made a couple...

planning recipe for coffee goats milk -questions

Hi kp  What about Cappriato? A sort of mix of caprine (being goat) and macchiato (my favourite coffee). Something a little bit left field??? :)

How long have you been soaping and..

I started soaping about Easter time last year - when we got our first dairy goats. So far I've only made plain non-coloured goats milk soap, and have yet to venture to the coloured and fragranced ones. We knew that we were moving to acreage at some stage in the future, so I joined a goat...

Mixing goats milk & lye help please

Hello Aponi  I am nowhere near as experienced as a lot of people on this forum, however I have made many batches of goats milk soap, and reckon I've found the trick with keeping the milk/lye as close to white as possible. Yes, I freeze the fresh goats milk (from our goats) - but in...

Does the hot weather affect the colour of your soap?

I'm in Queensland in Australia. Over the Christmas break, I made a couple of batches of uncoloured/unfragranced plain straight up and down goats milk soap, using milky way molds. As it happened, the days I soaped were quite warm and the mix took a bit longer to trace. Anyway, they set...

Your soaps look so good! :!: :!: Your stamp also works very well, and looks very professional, but friendly as well.. :) Could you please give me the link to the place where you had your stamp made? (My apologies if this has already been discussed elsewhere on the forum)

    A couple of experiments

Hi  As I'm sticking to familiar territory of goats milk soap, and have yet to step outside the square and try colours, I think your 2 soaps look great. I particularly like the top one with the purple - the colours are vivid and the look is quite rustic - I think it's beautiful...

Is it better to wrap soaps in paper or plastic?

Good Morning All To all the Australian soapers who might be reading this, is/are there any Australian websites you might recommend for various packaging methods for soaps? I am making cavity soaps of various shapes and sizes, so I thnk the little boxes might not work so well. Thanks

    Greetings from near Brisbane, Australia

Jingz Relle... I am a bit thick. I didn't twig that you were from Australia as well when you mentioned suppliers etc. I've found a few online places already for moulds, and have found a local supplier for palm and coconut oil at good prices. At this stage, I'm making a very basic soap with...

    Greetings from near Brisbane, Australia

Hi Everyone I am very new to soap making and have only found your forum tonight. There seems to be a wealth of information here so I look forward to reading heaps, and asking questions when I'm still puzzled. We moved from suburbia to 44 acres only a few months ago, and part of our fun here...
