Thank you! I like your idea of making them in single cavity molds. The salt caused sooooo many drag lines when they were cut. Next time, I’m going to try your method!

I ended up making a ciaglia salt bar this weekend. I needed some soap therapy. It came out beautifully. It’s scented with sea salt and cucumber and smells divine. These haven’t been trimmed yet, but this was my first time making both ciaglia and sea salt bars and I’m very pleased with the results.

Shoot. I am so sorry everyone, but it looks like I’m going to have to bow out. Life just keeps on happening. I’m sorry 😣

Like Alioop said, when you open the can of pine tar it smells like a road tar or burning rubber. It’s pretty awful. BUT as it cooks it mellows out and added a smoky smell that mixed beautiful with the essential oils I used.

Honestly, I just fussed over it and over-thought it way too much. I’m doing it again soon because I love the smell and because although it looks rustic it doesn’t have that chunky look of some HP soaps. I have a feeling this is way easier now that I know what to expect and will become a family...

Well, we had a family emergency, so it was in the mold when I left for over a week. I couldn’t really say when the best time to unmold it was, but it was almost to the point where I couldn’t cut it with my cutter by the time I got to it. Next time I’ll unmold much sooner.

So after all that drama, the soap hardened up nicely. The smell has definitely faded but still smells wonderful. I love them!
