Most of the time, impurities cause DOS. Scratch away at the DOS spot with your finger nail or knife. In the center of the spot, you might see a little black spec. If so, your DOS is caused by an impurities.

My favorite is Life Works Molds. I stopped using everything else I've purchased. If you are looking for something cheaper, I'd go for the Crafters Choice Molds. I find they are a pain in the butt to get the soap out of, but great for small batches and if you only make soap as a craft.

I highly recommend lifeworks molds. The have a silicone lining but are wood. Never had a problem with them yet.

Most of the time I will use 1oz per pound of oils. They are just for personal use, but I love my soaps meduim to strong scented.

I have a lifeworks mold which works pretty good. I still have to line the bottom, so it might not work for you. Never had any problems getting the soap out. Good Luck
