    Bug Bite recipe for everyone

    Man, I wish.

Is it normal for a broken bone to hurt during a rainstorm?

I didn't think so. Or I'd be in alot more pain in my left leg (broken into 5 pieces with a plate, rod and screws holding it together). Most of the time my left leg doesn't hurt, though sometimes it does hurt bad enough I need a cane. Right now, I was just wondering about my ankle since I broke...

    Bug Bite recipe for everyone

A couple weeks ago, I woke up with at least a dozen mosquito bites on my arm. It was the one above the covers and my bedroom door was closed overnight. And oh yes, it was mosquitoes. The itch was driving me completely crazy. I was scratching so much I started bleeding. So I tried to find...

Is it normal for a broken bone to hurt during a rainstorm?

Could be worse. It's more very annoying than anything else. After my left leg, everything else is kind of shrug worthy.

Is it normal for a broken bone to hurt during a rainstorm?

After my left leg, it doesn't surprise me. And nothing ever hurts as much as my left leg has and does. No physical therapy, mostly because I already know what to do due to my left leg. I never know when my left leg is going to hurt or why and it seems to have nothing at all to do with the...

    Start Praying, Mommas!

My mid 20's age niece is terrified of driving. She does everything she can to avoid it. I've never seen anything like it. Mind you, I was 40 by the time I got my license (long story) but now not being able to drive is really aggravating. I can't imagine being that scared when nothing has ever...

Is it normal for a broken bone to hurt during a rainstorm?

Thanks Paradisi. I like to check before freaking out. I really appreciate it. At least I know it's not just me overeacting.

Is it normal for a broken bone to hurt during a rainstorm?

Last time I broke a bone, I was unconscious for a week, only remember small glimpses of the next few months, and a good six months after that are kind of hazy. I broke my ankle March 14. Was in a boot until the beginning of May and now have a brace. Most of the time, I don't even feel it now...

    I made a mistake today

I'm willing to bet you have some of the best suppliers in the world right in France. I'm a bit envious.

    goat milk powder

I've rarely not had a bit of a speckled look with milk soap. Just make sure you blend it very well with the oils before adding your lye water. It's handmade so it's not going to be perfect.

Debating cancelling my Sams Club Card

I canceled it. We don't use it enough to justify it and it's due to renew in August.

How are you offsetting the cost of Olive Oil?

Yes, lard, coconut oil and shea butter. Think the hard oils comprise 60% of my recipe already. I also use 5% apricot kernel and 5% castor with the rest as olive. My last two batches I used 80% sunflower/20% olive and they are so soft even after 2 months that I'm not sure I'll ever be able to...

Debating cancelling my Sams Club Card

I'd love to know your opinions. They don't carry any of my oils, and butters. I can buy distilled water, lard and other oils from walmart at about the same prices, and the price for their nitrile gloves is the same as what I'd pay at Harbor Freight. I'm not sure the $50 fee is worth it all...

How are you offsetting the cost of Olive Oil?

Well, I definitely will not be using Sunflower from now on. It makes for such an incredibly soft bar even at an 80/20 mix (Sunflower/OO). So now I'm looking for something else. Rice Bran seems to now be the same price as OO. I was looking at maybe Avocado? It's cheaper than either right now...

    goat milk powder

I've started adding powdered goats milk directly to the oils. I mix it very very well using my stick blender, then I add in the lye water. Seems less likely to overheat. I found adding it to water first makes it less likely to break up in the oils so you get spots where there's a clump of goats...

    Why the cracking?

Overheated. Milk, honey, and sugar can all do that. It can also depend on the temperature in your house, and the temperature you mixed at. And sometimes it seems to happen "just because". Meaning, something that caused it but what it actually was *shrug*. You will hear the term volcanoing...

    How much to add ?

I'd suggest fragrance oils. They are less expensive. Since you aren't selling, cheaper is better considering you're experimenting . MIdwest Fragrance is one of my favorite companies. I suggest High Tide.

    Bathroom tile/tub replacement issues

Thank you. It's just one of those things. It's mostly just annoying.

    Bathroom tile/tub replacement issues

I wish I could do it myself. I completely redid a living room, right down to patching holds in the walls and removing wallpaper. I've replaced faucets and pipes. I won't touch electrical with a ten foot pole. The problem is that I've had serious medical issues since then and it's not really an...

    All soap colors turning purple

Are you using rain water? You know that smell after it rains? The smell of green growing things. I've always associated it with life and I really love that smell. It's called geosimin. It's a chemical that's created by bacteria in the soil after it rains. I bought some from a fragrance oil...
