Running into problems with batch of CP soap with honey

I'd say it was the honey, contributing to overheating. The red colour is a bit of a giveaway.

What Bath & Body Thing Have You Done Today?

Since I've been working longer hours, I haven't been making as much as I normally might but last night, I made a batch of the DIY Foaming Bath Butter base. Tonight, I turned part of it into the Tea Tree & Spearmint Foaming Facial Scrub; the recipe is part of the FBB base recipe booklet. Last...

What Bath & Body Thing Have You Done Today?

Been there done that. Or, months down the road, you pick up a jar and wonder just what's in it. I've learned to always label; it doesn't have to be pretty, just labelled.

    Gift Ideas

There was a picture but it was removed because my full company name and location were in the picture (fair enough). I've edited my original pic to blur those out.

    Gift Ideas

I thought it might be a nice idea to have a thread for gift-giving inspiration, incorporating Bath & Body items. Here's my Mother's Day gift box for this year. The lotion and the soap are matching fragrances. Included is also a Cotton/Bamboo face cloth. Let's see your gift ideas/suggestions...

    Pine Resin

Definitely not in lip balm but I do use it in Moustache Wax.

Help with lotion recipe from DIY Bath & Body

I follow SCM's suggestions. Obviously, I wash down my counters and kitchen beforehand but I'm not obsessive about it. I spray my work area with 70% RA solution and allow it to dry. It's a bit of a losing battle here as we have ceramic tile counters (think ceramic tile floors) with grout; it's...

Help with lotion recipe from DIY Bath & Body

Keep in mind this is not Aloe Vera gel or Aloe Vera extract; this is a shelf stable aloe vera distillate. The brand I use is George's Fractionally Distilled Liquid.

Help with lotion recipe from DIY Bath & Body

Any time! If you want inspiration on how to use it, don't hesitate to ask. When you're making your lotion, are you making certain that you're bringing the temperature up to 70C (minimum)? It needs that heat in order to melt the concentrate completely. (That would be the concentrate, your water...

Raw or Pasteurized Goat Milk Lotion?

I wouldn't use it in soap; I use it in lotion. In soap, I use frozen goat milk.

Raw or Pasteurized Goat Milk Lotion?

If you really want to use goat milk, you can get a goat milk hydrosylate from Formulator Sample Shop. That's what I use in my Goat Milk soap. There is no way I would ever use actual goat milk; that would be a preservation nightmare...

What Bath & Body Thing Have You Done Today?

I love camellia oil in my face creams. Just made this one this past weekend and it's beautiful!

What Bath & Body Thing Have You Done Today?

All this talk of shampoo bars.... I'm working on a men's line, beardos specifically. What would you add to the shampoo bars (hot pour or regular) for a beard wash?

What soapy thing have you done today?

Honestly, I don't used them all that often. I haven't had any issues so far, though. I buy the plastic pipettes 300 at a time and I prefer those.

What is this? Looks like mold or frost

Soda ash... it's purely cosmetic. If it really bothers you, you can steam it off. I have a couple of soaps that get ash and it really adds to the look of the soap, as far as I'm concerned.

What soapy thing have you done today?

Not at all. Whatever I'm drawing up never really gets that high up the tube. The only issue I've had so far is at the tip end. It's quite fine and that can be a weak point. I've had one break at the tip. Apart from that, though, no other complaints. They're lab grade.

What soapy thing have you done today?

It depends on the pipettes. I bought some of these from Amazon a while back; they're almost 8" long and glass.

The inci name for saponified lard is sodium lardate.
