plastic slab molds from mold market....

I bought a plastic slab mold for $19.95 from Soap Making Resource, I believe. I'm not a big fan of it because even with the lines, cutting can be uneven. Maybe if I had a steadier hand, I'd like it better!

    "Room temperature" method

I try to soap as cool as possible with my GM soaps that I want to not gel and stay light in color. The other day I made a Pink Grapefruit soap that I wanted to be able to toss into the freezer to prevent gel. Made sure everything was almost room temp so that I wouldn't get a partial gel in the...

Anything with a 1 week cure time?

Nevermind! Did a search and the answer popped right up! That rarely ever happens! Just bought a GM base and it's killing me to not use Fred's fresh milk...but it's OK. Will let you know how it turns out!

Anything with a 1 week cure time?

They definitely wanted something soapy...so maybe M&P it is! I know I can ask this on the MP forum, but I trust you guys more :)...anyway, can you add GM to a MP base? I see some bases with it already but I'd rather use my own GM. How can I do that?

Anything with a 1 week cure time?

Melt and pour...hmmm....never tried it. Think I could make something decent enough to give as favors with a week or less to learn? lol

    Cost of Coconut oil

Not sure if this helps... I just bought 2 54oz jars of Nutiva CO for $39.99 with free shipping on ebay.

Anything with a 1 week cure time?

A friend is having a baby shower next Sat, June 18, and she wanted me to make something soapy for favors. Problem is, she just told me! Is there anything at all that I can make that will cure in 1 week? Bath fizzies, salt bars, anything?! I hate to tell her no....I'm afraid I won't have a...

    Rebatch coloring...?

A day later and the centers are a bit more dark browny red. I got a starter kit of soap dyes on ebay. It said safe for CP, M&P, and candle making, I believe. Wanted something kinda cheap so I didn't waste money on failed batches. Soap itself is great though!

    Shrink Wrap for bar soap?

I thought it wasn't a good idea to shrink wrap CP soap....is that true?

    Rebatch coloring...?

I never measured....just enough to make it a little wet and easy to melt. I think I'm going to throw that red dye out. :(

Shipping CP soap in the Summer!

I have some friends who want some soap. Problem is, they're not local! How do you ship your soap? In a manilla padded envelope? A small box? And do you package it any differently because it will be in the mail? Also, how much does it normally cost to send a 5oz bar? Like $1? I don't want...

    Rebatch coloring...?

I did the crock pot method. Works pretty well for me. It's a shame it's so ugly....it's the best soap I've ever made or used by far.

    Rebatch coloring...?

Meet my Cranberry Wine with Poppy seeds 4x Goat Milk soap! This is the third (yes, third) time I've rebatched this same soap, all because of color issues. Each time I added more color thinking that I just hadn't added enough before. This was a wine and milk soap that I wanted to make into a...

Looking to build a wooden Soap Mold...any plans?

The liner is removable and is some kind of paper, not sure exactly.

Looking to build a wooden Soap Mold...any plans?

I will sell you mine for $20 plus shipping (maybe $12 shipping?). I originally bought one but it was measured wrong so I exchanged it for a new one. Just wanted my money back, but they would only do an exchange :( I found a mold I like better, so I have no use for this one. This one is made...

    Lye ability?

No way, Jose! Everyone is so sue happy these days, you'd get sued for some idiot getting lye in a paper cut or something silly. Tell them to learn online or read books.

    "Squeaky" Clean Feeling

I try to keep my SF at 8% for all my soaps...not sure what the cleansing value is since I use a different soap calc. Now I figured out how to use the one you guys use, and I'm sure I'll use it more often!

    "Squeaky" Clean Feeling

Yes! Fingers on a balloon is a great analogy. Kinda makes the "errrrrrr" sound, too. I've not noticed any drying on my skin, so I didn't think it was hurting anything...just wondering if that was how handmade soap was!

    "Squeaky" Clean Feeling

No, it's not drying. It just feels different...I suppose it's hard to explain. I use recipes of OO,CO,PO, GM and occasionally SB, CB, castor.
