    Experimenting...this should be interesting!

Well, for the past couple of months, I have been reading the forum and seeing the different techniques for swirling soaps so about two weeks ago, I made my first facial bar and swirled it...it came out so pretty that now I think I am addicted and want to swirl more. I have not ventured into...

Dennis, as always, your commentary is hilarious and your soaps look great.

    soap

WOW...there was a discussion a few days ago about questions on the forum that the "seasoned" soapers felt like the "newbies" were asking questions that they could have easily research and that they were not taking the time prior to asking questions. I am probably going to take a hit for...

    white topped soaps

I normally get ash on my soaps as well. I use the CPRT process so my oils and lye mixture are cooled to room temperature prior to mixing. When I used the regular CP methods, I still had ash as well as an occasional soap volcano! A little alcohol on a q-tip will take care of it...at least...

    PVC Pipe

Thanks for the ideas and suggestions, I am going to stop by the hardware store (Lowes) tomorrow evening and find some PVC pipe. It is such a shame when you are excited about going to the hardware store! Wish me luck

    PVC Pipe

Hello!! I am getting more and more adventurous as I keep reading posts on the forum...this is scary! I am thinking of making soap in a PVC pipe and was wondering what do you put at the ends to keep the soap from coming out? I think this would be great for travel soap and since I am preparing...

    Four Week Cures??

Okay, I admit I have cheated a few times because I am such an impatient person! Nothing happened to me but my bar melted so quickly that I didn't really get to enjoy it all. I normally wait 6 weeks for a full cure and that is a long time when you are checking and smelling it every day.

    Second Batch Failure

I never discount water because I don't understand enough to see the purpose or what the results should be

    Tea Tree Soap - Swirl

When you batch your soap, you put it in the freezer immediately? If so, I have never tried that. I normally leave my mold covered on the shelf in the basement and then prior to removing it from the mold, I put it in the freezer for about 30 minutes (helps to get it out of the mold).

    Tea Tree Soap - Swirl

I actually think that is what happened. I normally put the mold in the freezer for about 30 minutes but I got distracted cooking dinner and left it in there for an hour......I knew I should have let my family fend for themselves tonight! Oh well, it doesn't matter, the cracked bar will get...

    MY FIRST SWIRL!!

    Tea Tree Soap - Swirl

Okay, I am super excited! For this being my first time trying to swirl, I don't think it came out too bad. The bar is scented with Tea Tree and Orange essential oil and it smells so good, can't wait to actually use it. http://img835.imageshack.us/i/teatreeunmold004.jpg/...

    Tea Tree Soap - Swirl

I am getting ready to unmold them now...I have the mold in the freezer! I will post pics in about 1 hour. Keeping my fingers, toes and eyes crossed that it comes out well.

Saturday is Soap Day - Sorta - (EDIT - PICS)

The commentary on this post has been hilarious! Dennis, I think your soap looks great and I actually like the "Apricot" color...reminds me of the Mango soap I make. Happy soaping!

    Tea Tree Soap - Swirl

Thanks Krissy! The color is Chrome Green from Bramble Berry (Oxide). I love the way it looks for my first time but I am going to keep practicing. I will post pics when I unmold.
