    My Craft Fair Table

I love it Donnie! I agree with hiding the under table stuff, though. I am a sucker for all things rustic!

    Blueberry Lemon

Thank you for your reply. I will get the lemon, lemon, lemon since I have had trouble with essential oils sticking.

    Blueberry Lemon

Anyone have suggestions as to what would combine well to make a blueberry lemon soap that would have a true blueberry and true lemon scent? I don't really want to do lemongrass or a lemon blend, but if someone has had success with this combo, I'm all ears. I know it sounds basic, but all I...

    SYNDET success!

Ok, I didn't take a picture of the SYNDET bar...boring (Except for the faint lavender color I made it. That was cool) But...the results? Fantabulous! I am NEVER going back to regular poo again!

WSP mold, CPOP, EO and funny texture on the sides...

I use CPOP quite often and have never had a bad batch by pre-heating the oven to 170, put soap mold in oven, leave it on at 170 for 1 hour and then turn off oven and let soap sleep overnight in there. I have had great success with that. I don't ever do milk soaps in the oven, though.

    my cured soap is sweating!

Ok, funny that I read this. I just went into the guest bathroom at my SIL and she has a bar of glycerin soap on the sink that is full of sweat beads. Nothing else in the room is damp, but it is sort of humid today.

New Guy: I need a powerfully scented man's soap

A while back, I was jonesing for some good dark Patchouli. I found a great one and not badly priced/considering the cost of shipping, too. I would look to Ananda Apothecary (in Colorado) for my E.O.s For F.O.s, I have had good success at many of the places already mentioned (WSP/Brambleberry...

    substitute for palm oil

I use the sustainable palm products in my soap, and for my own purposes would never delete palm willingly from my product. In a roundabout fashion, we could all probably argue that since coconuts come from palm trees, that we should not use coconut oil.

I have got to ask this question

You don't have to boil lye to get it to 100 degrees. All you do is add the lye to water and waalaaa....instantly hot! No external heat required (and anyone in a right mind wouldn't do something that dangerous anyway). It was likely someone wholesaling and trying to sound smart. The sad part...

What about going here: http://www.rampantscotland.com/annual/annual_index.htm and seeing if there's an idea you can glean from the flowers they have over there?

She's probably harboring her "secret" recipe. My thoughts...don' t use it on the baby.

    Beer soap - legal?

I can't see why selling beer soap would be an issue. First of all, in order to properly soap it, you have to make sure the alcohol is boiled off and there is no carbonation and finally, who would eat or drink beer soap? Some things just don't need regulation. Wait long enough, though, and the...

    Chocolate soap ideas

I know the C.Butter scent doesn't survive the gel. it just smelled yummy in the package and made me want to make the chocolate soap I had put off for so long (friend requested it and I don't like such soaps). Most things that smell good outside of soap don't resemble their aromas in a soap.

    Chocolate soap ideas

So, if anyone has made a truly great chocolate soap that smelled absolutely to die for, let me know. In the meantime, my base recipe consists of the following oils (no particular order): Castor oil Palm Kernel oil Olive oil Coconut oil Palm oil I usually superfat with either...

Looking for the following lipbalm flavoring oils: Vanilla Buttercream Grape Strawberry Raspberry If you have these and are willing to sell a few milliliters to me, I am willing to pay and send something to put them in. I make so little of these things that it doesn't pay to have full...

    Lip balm questions

I see that Stevia seems to be the sweetener most often listed for lip balm. Is this due to some sort of stability issue, taste? Both? Can Splenda be used in any fashion, such as to mix with glycerin and dissolve, then add to balm base? Finally, has anyone used the LorAnn grape or...

    Weight disclosure

Knowing that (straight from the FDA cosmetic labelling page), does anyone here think that it would be inappropriate for me to label my soap as "At least 4 oz/113 grams", since my soaps will never be less than 4.5 oz, but more like 5 to 5.5 oz? I just want to build in a cushion because these...

Take 10 grocery shopping bags, cut them up and crochet them into a soap dish. Sort of putzy work, but it does work. And, waterproof to boot and recyclable. Here ya go: [/img]
