    HP, cocoa butter after cook?

I take the crock pot, put it on the counter or stove to help it cool down faster and stir lots--not so cool that it starts to harden but cooler so that my EO/FO's won't evaporate as quickly. I also add my superfatting oil(s) at that time to add instant moisture so transferring into the mold is...

    Creating less slip

Maybe clays? I made a bar with a higher shea content and it's not as slippy. Just an observation.

    HP for Me :)

I haven't posted any photos in a while, so here are a few soaps I made. My kid took the photos--she's pretty good! Anyway, to the left is my canolive test batch scented with lemon, lavender and a bit of orange 5x...This smells YUMMY. The middle is OMH, unscented, made today and looks rather...

    Pumpkin Pie HP

Mmmmmm! Pumpkin pie scent is one of the best. Looks delish too. It will probably go brown but that's ok.

    wholesaling 1lb soap loaves question . . .

I have let mini loaves go a month or so and they cut fine. I actually think selling by the loaf is a great idea but I have to agree with Dee Anna on the ick factor of buying by the slice.

    Salt bar with lard?

Nice! For HP do you add the salt at the end of the cook or during? Might be a silly question but I've only ever made it CP and the results have been meh.

    Breast Milk Soap

<<<<< Is very happy that those days are long gone. My one baby was born with a cleft palate so there was plenty 'o pumping, and years later little bags of milk were found in the pits of the deep freezer. Had I been into soapmaking back then I might have made soap with it just for the hell of it.

    HP, cocoa butter after cook?

No seizing of FO's in HP-one of the perks. It's the reaction with lye that causes the seize and if the soap is cooked there's no lye left. Don't add it until a few minutes after the cook so it will cool down a bit.

    HP question

I love HP. I sometimes add 5% water and cook on high or do a 10% water discount and stir constantly to speed up the cooking. There are sometimes white-ish pieces but I don't mind them. Adding the superfatting oils and FO/EO at the end provides additional moisture.

First "big" Christmas show of 2013.

Psst...no photos. On the upside, congrats! I've been checking out the craft shows and such for my area in 2014. I am going to have to start out small, I think.

    Shipping soap to the USA

The only issue you might have is maybe FDA but only if CBP refers it. Label it as it is (gift, soap, don't put homemade), keep the value below USD$15.00 and pack it as tightly as you can so you're not paying for air ;).

    Acne prone face cream

Me too! Every Saturday morning I make it a point to go through a pot of coffee and spend a couple of hours reading her blog. You almost deserve a degree in chemistry after a while. :p

Refined sesame oil is good too. I made a facial lotion using it (among other wonderful things suggested by Swift Crafty Monkey) and after three weeks, not one pimple, boil or a hint of either. I would avoid olive oil.

has anyone used canolive oil? -new pic added

I would imagine that most of the soft oils are heavy with pesticide use if not organic. Fortunately I don't eat any of them (or my soaps ;) ). I have soaps that I bought a while ago containing canola oil that have not gone rancid so I really think it's hit and miss, how old the oil is to begin...
