I know most people want to increase slip but what about bars that are too slick? Is there any additives that will decrease slip some? I don't want to change my recipe or oils, I like it just the way it is minus the extreme slickness.
I don't know if there's any science behind this but I find when I used infused oil (ie chamomile, calendula, etc) I don't have as much slip. I don't care either way but just something that I've noticed.
Not sure about beeswax. The one time I used it, it was pretty slick still. Thats interesting about infused oils, I'll have to try that and see if there is any difference.
One of my first batches has shea and coco butter, its suctions right to your skin. I can't use it but my DH can. I've only used clays once, it really dries me out but I may have used too much.
Is it an olive oil heavy recipe? I know of some that didn't like the almost slimy feel from olive oil heavy recipes and swapped some of the olive oil for high oleic sunflower oil to get a nearly identical soap with less of the olive oil lather.
I'll try some castor. Replacing the crisco in my recipe with castor only changes the bubble numbers so maybe that will be the fix I need while keeping my soap the way I like. Thanks.
