    First attempts at lotion

Your lotion will be thicker if you drop the water percentage, which is not a bad thing if you don't mind it. There are some additives to consider once you've played around for a bit, such as panthenol and silicones. They make a noticeable difference in how the lotion feels on your skin...

    Dental soap

If you HP it then the flavour and scent will be added at the end. You can even add stevia to sweeten it a bit. Not sure if the taste would survive saponification.

Soap Business - Manufacturing vs Artisan / Craft

Holy cripes! I guess I should look into local by-laws here to see what the bright sparks may or may not have stacked against me. That's just ridiculous what you have to contend with.

Found out what lye heavy soap feels like

Holy geez, I hope your skin will be ok. It's a fun craft we do but it's so easy to make an error and the consequences can be great. Glad it didn't get in your eyes.

    Cut potato soap

Nice! How is the texture and bubble action?

    new soap! (energy)

I add floral notes to it to curb some of the sweetness. It's one of my fave scents.

    Grapefruit Shampoo bar

Wouldn't the grapefruit neutralize most of the lye? I plugged the recipe (minus the additives) into SM3 and the oil/lye/water ratios are not too far off though. It's moisture that will cause spoiling.

    HP for Me :)

I'm not sure if you were asking me or Carolyn. I ended up shredding and dehydrating carrots a bit in the oven and have them infusing in HO safflower oil and ROE. I've done infusions with fresh citrus peels before with no spoiling but the carrots had loads of moisture.

    Soap of the Phantom Funk!

LOL now the title makes sense. Probably to do with the yoghurt and honey mixed.

    green colorant for CP

There is a thread on here somewhere about using food colouring. I don't know if green was achieved but you can always experiment with that.

surefire scents that everyone can enjoy :)

I love citrus blends and florals. I tend to use orange, lemon and grapefruit a lot, as well as ylang ylang, jasmine, lilac and gardenia. For FO's my faves are Energy and Manchurian Dragon.

Mmm nice. Clean cotton is nice and subtle too.

    My "all-in-one" mold

Freezer paper is plasticized on one side, like butcher's paper. Some baking paper is coated with silicone, hence the awesomeness. Maybe that's what you've got. The parchment paper I have works better than wax but still tears and frustrates.

    My "all-in-one" mold

You mean parchment paper? Go with freezer paper. With parchment and wax paper you will be peeling strips and bits off and cursing the whole time. Ask many on here how they know this. ;) One other cheap and functional option is to pick up the thin flexible plastic cutting boards at the dollar...

    Tiger Stripe

Wow those are great! They kinda remind me of licorice allsorts. Love the colours.

    HP for Me :)

Ooh, nice idea, thanks Carolyn. I love sunflower oil in soaps because the lather is so rich. I think I'll try that right now. :D

    HP for Me :)

Thanks folks! The carrot pumpkin soap is all natural and I hope it doesn't darken at all. I kept reading about carrot soap being lovely to use so I had to make some. True story-the OMH crawled out of the pot yesterday...never had it happen before but it came alive. Not enough time to get a...
