    Soap for Acne ?

Salt bars! I use a 95% coconut 5% castor bar with 60% of the oil's weight in salt. It is excellent as a facial soap on anyone's skin. My teen daughter loves it for keeping her face clear, and I like it because it feels clean. I just follow mine up with pure shea butter.

    Square silicone mold

I have the Crafter's Choice round silicone molds with the straight sides. Love it.

Reusable gloves that still maintain dexterity

I went to a beauty supply store and bought some of the black gloves that my hairdresser uses. Love them. They are definitely reusable and are quite durable. I've been using the same pair for several months, but I don't always use gloves to make soap.

    Salt Soap and damaged skin

Salt can be an irritant. I have a friend, who has psoriasis, and she cannot use it.

    Looking for HOT pink colorant

Very pretty soap! I have used both of the neon pinks from Bramble Berry, and I love them.

I lined a mold with silicone baking sheet

I kind of think that ordering the silicone loaf molds from Bramble Berry would be a better choice, certainly a cheaper one.

    Peak Mica Colorants

I was putting together an order for Peak's and wondered about the stability of the micas on their website. I did contact the company, and they did say that all of the micas are stable. I would like the impressions of anyone who has used them. What I am looking at are the twilight blue, deep...

What's the Deal with Salt Soap?

Both my 16-year old daughter and I (I'm 50) like salt bars as facial soap. It's not drying, but it has been very effective at tackling her breakouts. I follow up with straight shea butter, and I have a skin care routine that is inexpensive, effective, and gentle. You really should make a...

    Bramble Berry cube mold

They just put up the same cube mold but with nine cavities instead of twenty-five. I have it in my shopping cart! Go for it! Just be aware that the soaps are HUGE.

    Salt bar help! **Pics added**

I use square and round Crafter's Choice molds for salt bars, and they are fabulous. I find that, if you leave them alone for a couple of days, they are good and hard and come out easily. Personally, salt bars aren't something I would do in a loaf mold, because I like a really clean look.

    Soap Hutch HDPE Mold Users...

I have two Soaphutch mold and do not use any type of release agent. I do gel my soap, and I put a heating pad underneath it to ensure a good gel. Sodium lactate generally goes into all of my soap batches at 3%, but I have forgotten and still manage to get my soap out just fine. If I could...

    Interesting Mold

Interesting discussion. I've never been able to find any info about a silicone coating inside that mold. Where did you read that? As far as the silicone molds from BB - not a huge fan. I'm having lots of trouble with partial gel in those molds. I've given some thought to the Lifeworks mold...

Intersting video on how to get rid of ash

I always get ash on my bars when I use my divider, slab mold. I usually give them a week or so, and then I rub the ash off under a stream of warm water. They air dry to a beautiful sheen, and I am happy with the results. I do have a Steam Shot, so I may give that a try to compare.

    non dissolving sodium hydroxide

You need me to hop in here, I think. About a year and a half ago, I had a bad batch of lye in my possession. It was a dissolving issue, and no amount of changes on my part would make it dissolve. It was a manufacturing issue, and I had my money (for the lye and not the ruined soap) refunded...

Spoon Swirls gone Wrong My first attempt

I think the Black Raspberry Vanilla looks great. It may not be what you expected, but it's kind of cool.

    HappyDIY

I have ordered a few times with no additional fees assessed. The only thing I noticed is that silicone molds from them STINK horribly, compared to others obtained elsewhere. I don't know why that is. Their toad mold is one of my more popular for gag gifts.
