I wanted to make an avocado soap tonight with a Avocado oil, Avocado puree, Olive, Lard, Coconut, castor, and shea butter. But I just remembered I'm out of lard. I have palm oil, but it just won't be the same LOL! Anyone else ever feel the same way?
I wouldn't. The clays sold by soap suppliers are cosmetic grade, the clays used in ceramics are not. In order to use it in bath/body products they should be cosmetic grade. Technical grade clays can contain too many impurities (like high levels of lead) to be used in soap/cosmetics
Dale, that soap is so pretty!
Sonya, nice tool you have made there! I made one out of a hanger, but mine does not look very nice at all. Yours looks "professional grade" LOL!
I think they look great! I'm sure with a little clean up they will be very pretty!
Heh, I have been meaning to do a soap like this. I have a small silicone heart mold that has 12 cavities that I want to try. I intend on using Love spell and also doing a swirl in the base soap.
I have some wood molds and a couple of silicone molds. I hate lining and prefer my silicone molds that I got from Wholesale supplies plus:

It's very reasonable in price, and you don't need any extra support to...
Interesting. I have always wanted to try soapnuts. Ellachio, can you tell me what they add to the shampoo bar? I'd like to make an alternative for my dd's who have sensitive skin.
Soap noodles are basically a premade soap base for rebatching. The soap has been pushed through some sort of extractor to form the shape of the noodle. Most soap noodles are for commercial use, however some soap suppliers sell soap noodles/rebatching bases, and they are made with traditional...
Thanks everyone for the replies. The soap base was only slightly darker than it would've been without the coconut water/coconut milk. I was in such a panic, and really I don't know why as I was using a discoloring fo :-P
This coconut FO came from The Scent Shack. I did it hp hoping that it...
Yes looks like a nice recipe indeed! welcome back! I have just recently come back after a long hiatus too....I missed soaping! I've already done about 7 different soap batches and have more soap than I can use for a while, but I'm having so much fun!
I used half coconut water, and half coconut milk for the liquid. The coconut milk was stick blended into the oils. I should've froze the coconut water, but I was not thinking.
Anyway, the FO will probably discolor the soap anyway so no big deal.
So it's been forever since I've used coconut milk in my soap. I have had this soap in my head for weeks now....A coconut scented soap made with half coconut water and half coconut milk as the liquid.
The coconut water did not have any sugar listed in it. It was cold from the refrigerator. I...
