    Salt soap fail

I gave up on cutting my salt bars. I always use a silicone muffin type mold. My family knows it's a salt bar without me telling them because of the shape.

    Soap With Over 15 Oils

I agree with Irish Lass. When I first started soaping, I thought I had to have every (expensive) fancy oil and butter out there. After trying them, I've discovered some of my favorite bars are the simple 3-4 oil ones.

I posted some soaping results on it this morning. I just clicked on the area I wanted to post and typed. I think you have to be logged into this forum to do it (?) I clicked on the link provided in this thread and went from here. Not sure if this helps but I hope it works for you. I order a...

    Sweet Pea from Peak

I've used it, it was well behaved, didn't discolor and is a real sticker in soap. (CP, room temp, full water, superfat at 7%)

    peak 50% sale

I've ordered from Peak several times and have had pretty good sucess, but I research on the Scent Review Board (and everywhere else I can think of) before I order. I've used the Love Spell Dupe, the Twilight Woods Dupe, Juicy Pineapple, Apple Jack and Peel, Sweet Pea (and several more) with no...

Umm - Okay - Column Something or other!

I love the colors and I can't wait to see it cut. Cutting soap is like opening Christmas presents, you never know what you got till you peek inside!

    Mystery Fragrance 5 and 8

Both are beautiful. I recently made soap with white soap curls. I scented with Winter White (BB) and it always turns the soap dark brown. My daughter says it looks like it has toe nails in it---so much for me trying to be creative. Smells real nice though.

    4 new scents

Did you use the lab lemon yellow from BB? I've used it and it has a mind of it's own--full steam yellow ahead. It's really strong stuff and a little dab will do ya. I've been suprised more than once using it. Your soaps look great--including the sunshine yellow!

    Adding oatmeal to CP soap

I use baby oatmeal flakes, I find it in the babyfood cereal section. I get the oatmeal goodness with no nubby scratchy or having to grind anything up.

What would you do with this soap?

Too Cool!! I love the look of your soap. I use activated charcoal and often get colored bubbles. I don't mind it at all.

    Sharing the Love

Great job on the candy corn! I really like the layers. The green is really green--but I love green!

    Goats Milk

I've never used grapefruit seed extract in soap. Dont fear the goatsmilk! It was the first soap I ever made (I was too dumb to know it was suppose to be hard). If I can do it, so can you. Go for it!

    Charcoal

Never had a problem at all. I've made activated charcoal soap that is at least 9 months old and the scent is still really nice.

What grade of lye do you use?

I order the tech grade from Essential Depo too. It works fine and I've never had any problems with it.

    need a new recipe

I agree with the simple is good logic--at least thats what I've concluded in the last several months. OO, CO and Palm Oil make a great soap. I love lard too. My 'fancy' oil has become castor and my once in a while addition is usually cocoa butter.
