Anyone have experience with Activated Charcoal cancelling out EO or Fragrance Oils?

I haven't had a problem with charcoal cancelling out EO or FO. Although with the FO, I wish it would cause it to fade.

I used charcoal in an anise EO soap and it is as strong as ever.

I use charcoal in a soap with a blend of anise, peppermint, lavender, and tea tree - and the scent sticks forever.

Thanks so much! That's what I thought but my husband kept questioning it .. to the point I doubted it myself!

Now, alas -- I can say, I've asked the experts and he's wrong!!

Never had a problem at all. I've made activated charcoal soap that is at least 9 months old and the scent is still really nice.

I've got a bar of chacoal soap I made 3 years ago (scented with Green Irish Tweed) and it smells just fine.

I'm guessing the canceling out thought came from the fact that charcoal is often used in air filters to eliminate smells in the air. I know nothing about the science, but I've never had trouble with the smell disappearing from a bar of soap colored with charcoal so there must be something about either different about putting it in soap or it's a different form of charcoal.
