    Curing racks for large quantities?

I don't know how much money you have to spend, but if I had a money tree I would buy a load of these: http://soapequipment.com/trays/

    Soggy soaps

You might want to try the same thing out of plastic yarn (purchased or made out of plastic bags). I use the same thing in the shower all the time, and it really extends the life of my soap. The plastic doesn't hold any water at all, whereas the cotton yarn will get a little soggy. And I just...

    Rose Absolute in CP soap

I got mine at Saffire Blue.

    Surprise Banana EO

I stumbled on a combination today: 5 parts stinky sock ginger (steam distilled): 3 parts ylang ylang dark smells exactly like banana-scented candies! Well, to me it did anyway. It wasn't what I was aiming for, but maybe the combination will come in handy for someone else. Enjoy!

    Problem selling inventory

You can open an Etsy or Artfire shop, and that can be taken care of completely from home, except for getting to the post office.

Geranium EO accelerate trace in salt bar?

I would think that salt bars set up so fast anyway, that even if it did accelerate trace, you might not notice.

    Does lemongrass EO discolour?

Hmm, I wouldn't say I get any noticeable discoloration in my lemongrass soaps- maybe it depends on the lemongrass EO supplier? Mine is from NDA. And maybe the amount your using too.

    Blue scent brainstorming

I'm sure I saw a thread like this a while back, and somebody suggested an anise & lavender scented bar.

What is the best lavendar E.O. to use in CP

After many batches I've decided that a combination of lavandin & 40/42 seems to hold longest in my bars. I don't know why that would be, but it seemed noticeable to my nose. Saffire Blue actually had a better price on 40/42 than NDA last time I ordered! (In Canada anyway)

    CP sugar scrub

That's very similar to my recipe, except I use olive oil instead of Shea. I press the mix into a pan and let it set, then cut it into squares once it's cool. I package the squares in an amber jar, and label etc. you could package in a big glass bail jar maybe? Or just a cello bag with a pretty...

To scent or not to scent Pine Tar Soap?

I vote for no added scent- the people who are looking to buy Pine Tar soap seem to be looking for the skin benefits, not so much a pretty-smelling bar of soap.

    Storage soap vs oil [Question]

I find my liquid soaps tend to turn faster than the liquid oils they came from. I don't know why that would be- I keep everything refrigerated.

    Rose Absolute in CP soap

I struggled for a while to get a rose-scented soap that I could afford, and I finally stumbled on rose wax. Since I'm in Canada I get it at Saffire Blue, but I'm sure you could find it somewhere close to you. The scent holds, and it's way less expensive than the absolute.

    Powdered milk

Yep, you can absolutely use it- I would make a regular Castile recipe, and then blend the powder into the batter at light trace. You can premix it into a little of the water from your recipe if you're concerned about clumping. I would aim for 1tbsp ppo.

    What size soap is best?

I use the Brambleberry liners as well, in molds image myself to support them, and they do flop inwards until the batter is in the liner to hold it up. I cut my loaves with a one inch wire cutter, and they come out around 4.5oz, which I like.

    Getting into wholesale

I agree with Ancel- you set your wholesale price at whatever covers your cost (& hopefully is in line with what other soapers are charging in your area), and the store owner can sell it for whatever they think their customers will pay. I suggest a retail price to my vendors, but I also make it...

Those of you who use tank-like wire cutters....

My wire cutter definitely can't get through hard bars like a knife can- I usually cut after 24 hours.

That's very cool- I wish I lived somewhere olives would grow!

My eevvil Christmas soap. Bust !

What about using it as a Halloween soap? Sweet scents play into the candy aspect of Halloween- and the black and red certainly lend themselves to something with blood or vampires.
