    Question about soft soap

Last Saturday and over night about 10 hours. Then kept in the mold for 4 days, unmolded it and left to sit for 3 more until I tried to cut it.

    Address on the label

I'm having thoughts about this issue as well, if I ever sell anything. It concerns me because I live in LA, so I would probably get a listing in the phone book. If anyone feels the need to find me at my home/place of business, they can do it there, and not from my label.

    Question about soft soap

Hi all, so, I'm having an issue with a soft soap. It's been a week and the outside is hard, but the inside has a circular dark spot of almost toothpaste consistency soap in it, which does not react with phenolphthalein at all (no pink). When it's cut, it dries eventually. However I don't...

    Funding Your Business

I say go for it. But, I've had friends try Kickstarter and fail. So, I think, unless your product/idea is really, really unusual, it may be hard to get strangers to chip in. So, my advice would be to think of a really kick butt product idea that no one else does or a way to market like no...

First Salt Soap - Not loving!

I love my salt bars. I feel nice and clean after using it. I don't have my recipe with me or I'd post it, but it's not overly drying, I just feel like it's drawn all the crap out of my skin when I use it. Yours look really nice, though!

I finally got the clue... *facepalm*

Oh, I upset an entire soaps fragrance oil over the weekend when it slipped out of my gloved hand. I'm 0-2! At least it wasn't lye, right? lol!

I finally got the clue... *facepalm*

Never, ever, ever, do anything that has to do with making soap if you are feeling especially clumsy. My beautiful 18 in log of wonderful smelling soap landed upside down on the floor this morning after the paper lining broke while taking it out of the mold. Thank goodness it didn't...

    Home Brew

Brewed my own hard cider last year. It was awesome! If I had room for the 5 gal pails, I'd make some more, but soap takes up all my room. The gallon jugs just didn't leave enough after racking of the lees 3 times. But, man, it was some potent stuff. I shared my two Grolsch bottles of cider...

    Is Facebook worth it??

I read a blurb about social media promoting and it said, that it may look like bad form on Pinterest to pin your products continuously and that you should get a group together and do reciprocal pinning for each other. I think that sounds fair.

    My first hanger swirl

Looks great! I totally did a hangar swirl but I did it across the short measurement in a log mold by mistake. (didn't think that one through at all! lol) can't even tell that there is a swirl! hehehe. oh boy.

    Spring/summer "herby" fragrance

Tomato Leaf. Very green, herby, different. Parsley Water is sweet and green. I did a tomato scrubbie soap with a 50/50 mix of both and it is very nice.

    Leather FO

I use Daystar Saddle Shop in a blend with several other F/O's including Wranglers. A couple of the scents in the blend are used in other blends, but saddle shop and wranglers are only used in this one soap. Well...long story short, this soap seems to over heat. I mean, really, it heats up twice...

    I am stumped...tangerine essential oils

I put crushed vanilla bean specks in mine. Gave it a slightly sweet tangerine smell, but it would be considered exfoliating with those in there.

    Special Dog Soap

According to PetMD, dogs have a higher alkaline level in their skin than humans. http://www.petmd.com/dog/grooming/evr_dg_shampoo_for_dogs this information was also noted at http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC227028/ in a scientific paper. It looks like this paper is about your...

    Special Dog Soap

From what I've read, calendula infused sunflower oil, and some neem oil would work good. There are several fixed oils that are antibacterial and antifungal, like coconut. I think the goats milk soap with a selection of good oils sounds wonderful for your dog's skin. Or a buttermilk soap. I...
