    I made my first mold

Very clever! I love it! the only thing I would add is a -1/4" lip so you can slide the soap out exactly to the edge of that lip and then using the mold as a straight guide to cut off the bar. (just an idea for you)

Newbie needs help...Coconut milk powder in hp soap

I judge my SF on the recipe and usually soap at 5-6% but if you want to use 8% that will be perfectly fine ....it's personal preference. As for the amt. of milk powder, go according to the directions on the can for powdered if your opting for 100% milk as your liquid. Good luck:)

    What got you started soaping?

Just a crafty person, anything old fashioned catches my eye as did soap making. Once I tried it I was hooked. Newbie needs help...Coconut milk powder in hp soap

Yes you can. What I do is take a little bit of the melted oils and make a slurry or paste with my milk powder. set this aside. Then after I add the lye to my pot of oils, and stick blend it a couple of times I add in the milk slurry. Stick blend to trace. Looking forward to seeing your end...

Poll: How much do you superfat your "typical" soa

I've ALWAYS done 5-6%.....but recently I have been experimenting with only 3% in my tried and true recipes to see what the difference is or if I can even tell a difference. I'm also intrested in the change in the lather.
