Symphony Scent's OMH was my go-to for a long time. Something changed with it though, my bars would end up ugly and greasy after cure. I use Sweet Cake's version now - it's as good as Symphony Scent's but doesn't cause any problems.

No fragrance oils here but I did purchase a few other bulk items, 5 lbs. of magnesium hydroxide, 5 lbs. of SCI noodles and 18 lbs. of sodium hydroxide. I think I have enough lye now to last me a couple of years...

Just for fun I looked at a site that sells a "recommended" cp shampoo bar for dreads. Ingredients are: coconut oil, castor oil, water, glycerin, hemp oil, essential oil blend and tetrasodium glutamate diacetate which would be a chelator/rinsing agent.

I wonder if you used a paste of baking soda and vinegar on the underarm area of the clothing, whether the smell would be gone then.

Hey Earlene, Curious as to which babassu oil you are using? The "hard butter" version that New Directions sells or the one that is the consistency of 76 degree coconut or ?

Rice bran wax has a melt point of 186.8 degrees F. so you could sub carnauba wax which has a melt point of between 180 - 185 degrees F.

Just figure out what the amounts are for one of them and yeah, times it by 20. I usually add a little extra on.

I only use essential oil blends to scent my bars and they are very light. Some how the thought of using something artificial like an FO with a product that is supposed to be better than the commercial stuff turns me off, but that's just me... sweat has a salty sort of smell and you will still...

Zinc ricinoleate is sold as pastilles and won't leave any residue. I tried it many years ago and wasn't able to make it work for me. I think Tom's of Maine had it in their recipe at one time but I don't think they use it now which would indicate to me that it didn't work out for them either...

You should be able to get a SAP value by calling the manufacturer.
