CP and HP can you do both on the same batch?

Thanks all for the help and explanations. I am not going to HP now as CP is quicker and I don't think its worth time extra time spend for a couple of weeks saving on cure time. Instead I will buy some M&P to satisfy my need to start using handmade soap now! As a bonus my son can help with the...

CP and HP can you do both on the same batch?

How long does HP need to be left for a decent soap? if there is not much difference in the timings then for me its not worth the extra effort. Thanks everyone

CP and HP can you do both on the same batch?

Thanks I misunderstood HP I thought you could use it straight away? Or does it mean you can use straight away but HP is still better if left to cure/dry? I think the CP left to cure will make the better soap but as I said I am impatient and want to try beforehand.

CP and HP can you do both on the same batch?

Is it possible to make CP soap and take out just a bar or two worth to put in a slow cooker to HP? Is all soap suitable for both methods? I am impatient to wait for cure so thinking this would be a good way to test and use whilst waiting.

I got some coconut milk powder from the supermarket. I didn't notice until I got home that its not pure milk powder. The ingredients are Coconut milk solids, Maltodextrin, Milk protein (sodium cassinate), Acidity regulator (sodium phosphate) Will it be ok to use? I was planning to add it...

    Bath bomb pre-mix

sorry I perhaps should have written as a ratio 1:1 If you made a large batch of 50% baking soda and 50% citric acid, then took out 30% of the total mix you couldn't guarantee that the 30% contained half and half of the two original ingredients.

    Bath bomb pre-mix

I am no expert but I would say with pre-mixing the base this will not guarantee that your mix will be even. Put simply when make all at once a 50/50 split will be just that, but if you pre-mix it and just take out a bit at a time there is no way of knowing you have you a 50/50 split of...

Spring Craft Fair_ Keep my Mouth Shut Nope

Have you thought about putting a sign/notice on your stall something along the lines of Customers please note: In the US there are laws regarding selling soap (you could state the act to make it sound more official), a seller is not allowed to make any claims other than it cleans. If a seller...

Spring Craft Fair_ Keep my Mouth Shut Nope

Thanks thats interesting. So every answer question you are asked about such things you have to reply "I can only say it cleans!" Thats harsh especially if the person next door is claiming their soap cures all. At least with the EU regulations they are easily checked one seller can inform on...

Spring Craft Fair_ Keep my Mouth Shut Nope

I understand that in the states you are not allowed to make any claims just that soap is soap and cleans. However if you are selling at a fair and someone approaches your stall asking if you sell anything for eczema etc are you allowed to tell them a particular soap has worked for your...

    Packaging for wet soaps

I think it is a good idea, I just don't think people will want to take wet soap whatever you choice to leave to put it in. I get your point that you don't want it to be seen as a sample more of a nice surprise gift. I still think you would be best leaving just the one wrapped bar next to the...

    cocoa butter question

Thanks everyone some great suggestions on here I put it in the microwave at 20% power until I could get it out of the tub. It was then soft so I was able to cut it into pieces easily :) When it gets back to the hard state I might grate some of the chucks so I can accurately weigh it...

    cocoa butter question

its worse than a large block. Its 500grms in a tub so I can't even get a knife to the edge to cut, I just had to hack into the middle  This is it http://worldofmoulds.co.uk/image/cache/data/website%20images/Cocoa%20Butter%20Refined%20500g%20WOM%20website-500x500.JPG

    cocoa butter question

Thanks I will have put the whole tub in the microwave as I will not be able to get it out of the tub to put in a double boiler. Wish I had known it would like this to use. I would have avoided buying in a tub and choose a seller that sells in blocks (would be easier to cut). Naively I...
