What soapy thing have you done today?

Thank you for the suggestions, @Chris_S and @Misschief ! I'm the kind of gal who reads and studies for months on end, before taking the plunge, haha! I'm off work until Jan 2nd, and will be trying a small batch of lotion today, but I think that I see swirls in my future!!

    Fragrance oil absolete?

@BillOB Those are gorgeous soaps, and only your first batches?? Well done! I haven't used orange oil in soap yet, but have read that people have had to anchor it with something like litsea cubeba, or use orange 5 fold (or even 10 fold).. but please don't give up, because your soaps are super...

    Post your happy

We started a couple of new traditions this year - first, I got to cook Christmas dinner on the 24th, which leaves the 25th free to just relax, and pick at leftovers, yay!! We don't go crazy on gifts, and this year was just perfect - I got a bunch of bushcrafting items, as did DH, and our...

What soapy thing have you done today?

I made a Vanilla/Lavender body butter for my daughter last night (for Christmas, by request). I also made both of us a conditioning hair oil.. will whip up some beard oil for hubby today, and am hoping to brave the waters of lotion crafting over my holidays..

    Bath Bomb Questions

I read about a million books/posts on BBs before making them; I pack very tightly, but I also incorporated the tip to press a little hole with my thumb in each side before putting them together - this apparently helps them float, and spin... I can't confirm that 100%, but my huge BBs did both!

    HELP Newbie mistake.

So much yes here!!! I think I read about making body care soaps for almost a year before trying it, though I had been making laundry soap before that.. and wanted to tweak my formula, so started learning about SAP values.. now, I want to know every piece of this amazing puzzle, Haha!

    Bath Bomb Questions

I melt a bit of cocoa butter and mango butter - leave out the soft oils. Also, I add my liquids sooooo slowly, and mix, mix, mix... I do use Epsom salts, to soften water, kaolin clay, and even witch hazel... and mine have all turned out great (though I'm by no means an expert). The most...
