    If Only......

Thanks CaraBou, I had seen the link on the main page, but then it wasn't there, and I wondered what was going on... Yup, Lysol douches. Standard practice. Yup, insane product claims. Also standard practice. And if the products didn't work for you, you were disappointed that yours was a...

    Reselling without permission?

she did say that, but the woman said she was using it on her own single dog, and was not gifting any, but was going thru a crazy number of bars if that was true....then she WAS gifting...the jumbled story makes it hard to have a lot of confidence. I would have been fine with her saying "gosh...

    Few basic general questions

Well, make sure you're very aware of what that glass is made out of, in that case. Loose cannon, anyone? Soooo....this would be the one with plastic dividers? There's something wrong/off here. I can't put my finger on it, but it's really unsettling me, combined with the ingredients thread.

Best quality ingredients, RBD, organic... questions.

How is it different to other oil extractions, and why would some seeds still have different rancidity than others?

I need to vent. Lost 5.5kg of oils today

Is it salvageable, since you know what you put in, weight-wise?

Best quality ingredients, RBD, organic... questions.

um....doesn't that have more to do with the specific fatty acids in the particular oil, and things like exposure to air rather than the processing? Oil kept properly stores about as long as the seeds, I find.

    Reselling without permission?

I agree that it's unsettling, but I also agree that if you can somehow make it clearly your soap, and she resells it, it's good business for you, indirectly. Stamping would be a cool way to do it.

Best quality ingredients, RBD, organic... questions.

You may want to consider a different public expression of that sentiment, in my opinion. I'm not a vegan, but it's a very disconcerting feeling reading some of your posts.

    Few basic general questions

With a 36 bar mould, that's still a half hour... Sometimes with difficult moulds, putting the whole thing in the freezer briefly will shrink the soap away from the mould enough to make removing it relatively easy.

    Letter to CDC _Raw Shea

Agreed. There is a lot of fear, and speculation, and people seem to almost enjoy coming up with more and more outlandish concerns...we can "what if" any situation into something horrific, if we let our imaginations go...but it's better to deal with the situation as it IS. Ebola's nasty, but...

    Letter to CDC _Raw Shea

Jani - the risk of someone getting ebola from raw shea shipped into North America is about as close to nothing as a scientist would ever say...Just use it. Wearing gloves will make no difference whatsoever. I still feel extremely confident that there would be NO ebola on any African import...

    Letter to CDC _Raw Shea

I'll probably end up labelled as a "reliable source" and quoted as a "scientist who spoke out recently about Obama". Both of which are arguably true, but sadly not in relation to his garage, nor his teen years. Isn't fact manipulation fun?!

    Letter to CDC _Raw Shea

Ah, thanks for the improved information. I had a hunch mine was dated as to the Ebola origin timeframe (it just seemed unlikely that such a disease only appeared that recently, given its stability). I think bush meat is still quite popular in places, with or without starvation, and like the...

    How old can soap get?

I understand...it was just the juxtaposition of posts that made me laugh. It's really sweet that you've kept it, and that you have those memories, I hope you don't think I was laughing at you for hanging on to the last Gramma-bar.

    Letter to CDC _Raw Shea

Your dedication to properly training medical staff who appear to have gaps in their prior knowledge/practice is greatly appreciated, even if I never come in contact with one of your students. Your generosity in answering questions and bringing your expertise to this forum is also something I...
