    Melting Camphor (Tiger Balm)

From my research, Camphor has a mighty high melting temperature. Do I need to heat the composition that high, or will the camphor eventually dissolve at lower temperatures ? Btw, I'm working towards a Tiger Balm version. Problem is that I am hoping to use common oils/butters, which I am...

    Coconut Milk Rancidity

Lye doesn't reliably protect against rancidity. Probably another way to phrase the question would be: Does coconut milk cause DOS ? That being said, I don't know the answer myself. Only contributing to the question here :D

    CP failure

Actually, we all get into different problems in the beginning. Also, you should give the exact recipe, temperatures, ingredients and additives. Add pictures. Why is that you had to rebatch ? That you couldn't pour it into molds ? For 3 - besides high temperature and/or fast tracing...

Absinthe soap made from the beverage

Apparently it contains thujone which is a neurotoxin. Also makes you see many flamingos flying around before it kills you :P

    Rose water/cucumber/carrot/goat milk soaps

Works very nice for liquid soap though ...

    Rose water/cucumber/carrot/goat milk soaps

I assume the rose water didn't actually scent your soap, right ? For the saffron, it may be even prettier as a thin layer instead of mixing it into the soap.

    Making baby powder...

Yes, corn and corn flour do contain sugar/gluten. However other corn products, like corn oil or corn starch do not contain either. Cornstarch is marketed as a gluten free product.

Made a Turmeric Soap. Will it stain?

Sunlight causes all sorts of colors to fade: wall paint, clothes, etc. Probably the energy from the light breaks down the pigment.

    Making baby powder...

Rice flour contains mostly from rice starch. Corn starch and rice starch are basically the same substance. All starches are made from sugars. Maybe some people think that only corn starch contains sugar, because they are thinking of corn syrup and are not aware of rice syrup. But rice...

Absinthe soap made from the beverage

If you're doing HP, you can add the liqueur just before pouring. In this case, I wouldn't do exactly a water discount, but let more water evaporate during boiling. The only catch is that the liqueur may gel the soap even more (if you're not careful you may end up with a partial gel)...

How do you get a smooth HP soap?

You certainly need to pour hot. Didn't know that freezer paper can melt. Of course, I'm using baking paper.

    Making baby powder...

Any reason yeast would dislike rice starch ? After all, rice flour is mostly starch.

    Using liquers in CP soap

For absinthe, I would try to reconstruct the recipe from scratch, using oil instead of alcohol as a medium. If you're boiling the hell out of real absinthe, you will lose a lot of flavor.

    Black Drawing Salve

Honey can be an excellent preservative :)

    Black Drawing Salve

Honey isn't water based, but sugar based :) But wondering about the kaolin/charcoal. Doesn't it make for a clumpy application ? Thing is I added recently a little clay to a sort of butter and it gets really clumpy on the skin (not the mixture per se, since it's properly homogenized).

Made a Turmeric Soap. Will it stain?

Oil soluble colors don't stain much in soap. You should know that turmeric will discolor under light.

    Identifying an oil

An easy step to identify is finding out the melting temperature.

    Superfatting: How much?

After having done this, my conclusion is that superfat should be adjusted on a recipe by recipe basis.

What can be done ? Modify the recipe, use some tricks to raise their melting temperature ? Besides the fridge ...
