I feel like something is not clicking

I have some floppy silicone molds and I put them in a shallow box for stability. You still can't pound them down like loaf molds but it makes it easier to move them out of the way and cover them

    Mica, TD, FO's, and more

Most mica suppliers have sample sizes. I recommend getting a few and see how you like them before you dive in. I ordered a ton of mad mica samples and then went back for more on what I loved. I've done the same on TKB and Nurture. Look for sample sales on FO. I ordered a ton last year at...

so I got crude palm oil...

Have it reversed on your credit card. In the complaint you can mention fraudulent product. It may take a while and they may fight it, but businesses rarely win on consumer credit card challenges. I also know that CC companies are being super generous with fraud refunds during the pandemic...

Adding Lavender buds to distribute evenly ?

You need to make sure the soap is cooling and beginning to thicken before adding the lavender. It will make the soap scratchy so you're better just having it on the top.

Well I finally had time to make a batch this weekend. Now that I had to go back to working 8 hours there just aren’t enough hours in a day. The half days getting paid for full days was sweet while it lasted. My soap is leftover soap. I used crumbled soap curls from the April challenge and the...

I had a green go from baby poop to nice green. I had already cut it into smaller bars to donate and low and behold it wasn't as fugly as I thought.

Wood ash lye - asking for a friend

I watched the video and it looks like he measured the lard using water displacement, which is more accurate than just filling a cup with lard. He must know what ratio works for him but he should specify on the lard.

SMF May 2020 Challenge Signup – Diagonal Slice Stripe with Swirl

So many really great soaps. I really like the hanger swirls. Wish I was more confident in doing them but mine never come out like the ones you all have used for your swirls.

SMF May 2020 Challenge Entry Thread - Diagonal Slice Stripe with Swirl

Glad some one broke the ice. Thanks Dibbles. I enjoyed this challenge. I did mix and pour each layer separately and my swirl is a cylindrical swirl from Clyde at Vibrant Soap. I used the picture below as my inspiration and the scent is blood orange goji berry from WSP. I used both halves of...

    Pouring Temperature.

You need to have the soap cool enough that the embed won’t sink to the bottom Different bases have different melting points so 130 may have been a good working point for that base. Stephenson’s bases have a higher melting point so I like those for embeds in soap made with a lower melting...

SMF May 2020 Challenge Signup – Diagonal Slice Stripe with Swirl

I used a wire cake layer slicer and was able to get a pretty good cut without slicing in half first. I stood the soap on end and worked slowly with constant light downward pressure to keep on the angle. Amazon.com: Wilton Aluminum and Steel Cake Leveler: Food Sculpting Tools: Kitchen & Dining

Has anyone purchased half a cow?

We have a smoker and we are buying by hanging weight. I definitely have plans for the brisket! I actually buy a couple of full briskets a year for corned beef, pastrami and smoked bbq.
