    Exfoliating soap with two oils?

I'm just wondering how you picked this one to replicate. Is this a soap that you or a friend likes?

Made soap from used cooking oils....something went wrong :D

NaOH vs KOH is a good indication of bar vs liquid. If the recipe (like this one) uses only NaOH, then it will be solid.

Considering a new loaf mold - opinions please?

So, you don't CPOP because you don't want fragrance to stick in your oven. Have you tried other methods of forcing gel? (Sorry if this was touched on-- I may have missed a post)

    My Second Soap

That's just what happens. The oil absorbs into the soap and leaves the mica behind. You can mix it with a little soap batter instead, but you would lose that shininess of the mica. I don't know of another way to get shiny mica swirls. I wonder if you could use clear melt and pour instead of oil.

Help me figure out the hardener in this ingredient list - please!

I'm not sure what you mean by hardener. If you mean, what made all those oils into a hard bar of soap, then that would be lye. It's not listed, because they are listing what's in the soap after saponification. The lye has all reacted through the process, so it is not listed.

    A gift

Thanks for sharing. I considered grape seed oil at one point, but it has a short shelf life so I decided against it. You can search the forum for information on why pH testing is problematic in soap making. I suspect it's a colorful way of referring to potential for a volcano.

    Reverse Engineering Bar Soap

Have you tried adding the honey to your oils instead of to the lye water? You can loosen it up by warming it a little in the microwave if necessary and then blend it directly into your oils. I haven't used honey in a while, but that's how I did it and I don't remember having any trouble with...

Boom recommendation for intermediate soap making with all natural colorants

As a person who never used a book, I think your next step is to start playing with a lye calculator and make your own recipes. Start by putting one of the book recipes into a calculator and then tweak it. When I started incorporating colors and making swirls, I had already found this forum...

    Start Praying, Mommas!

The saga of growing up continues! Gaius and Pax have flown off to Ireland for a missions trip! While in transit, they stopped in Belfast and got to see a little of the July Twelfth parade before catching a train. They are boys, so who knows how much I'll actually hear from them.

Can you just reduce the liquid in a given recipe? Add it little by little until it's what you like?

    Pentagon shaped column soap mold

If the embed didn't work out, you could stamp the bars after they are cut. I know is not the same, but it would convey the same idea to the team.
