The agony of daylight saving time

I love DST. The sun goes down so early during standard time, and my energy level goes down with it. I seem to get so much more done during DST. Thanks for the history lesson Dennis!

    First time, check my recipe?

As is, it has a cleansing # of 20. That is too high for me. I don't go higher that 20% on CO. Add the difference to your OO. Also 10% is too high a sf to sell, too much free oil that can go rancid. Before you sell please, do your research, test your product over a year's time to see how it...

To reply or not to reply? That is the question

I was one of those "less than informed" people when I started posting. I had made a couple of batches which turned out to be lye heavy. However, I had no idea. I did feel offended by one of the relies. But it made me stop and think that maybe the books and videos I had watched were not the...

Did I over react to this?

In my humble opinion unless it's a plant that I can pull from the ground and bathe with...it's not natural. Think about it, even the oils we use have been processed in some way. Soap is not a natural product...it is a handcrafted product and that is quite a difference.

    Tea?

I usually infuse my oil with the chamomile, but a tea will work just fine. Just make sure that you freeze it, so that it doesn't burn. I have added the flower petals to the soap and they looked lovely in it. Lard, coconut and olive sound fine. Don't forget to run the recipe through soapcalc...

    Finally did it

Congrats! I just used hemp oil for the first time and the soap is curing, so I can't give much info. However, I did read that because of the short shelf life it could be put in the freezer and will last for 6 months. My main oils are olive, sweet almond, coconut, sunflower (high Oleic)...

    Lumpy Bumpy Bath Bombs

So I tried my hand at bath bombs for the 1st time. I got the right texture and formed them using a meatball maker. They were a thing of beauty, perfectly round, hard and not a crack in sight. So I put them in the dining room and started on my soap. Checked back with them a 1/2 hr. later and...
