    My Candle Recipe (With instructions)

Hiya everyone! I figured I should post my candle recipe, since I don't see many on this side of the forum! This is an Organic Soy Wax candle with a great throw, and the same recipe I use for business! I use Midwest Container Wax from American Soy Organics. Please keep in mind I use glass jars...

    Ice-dyed scarves and a freaky t-shirt

This is a lovely gift idea! I'll have to try it with my nephews and nieces sometime, they're pretty crafty kiddos. How did your grandsons like it, was it easy for them? Obviously, they did a very nice job!

    CP Soap Colorants

I would seek out specifically skin-safe colorants, personally synthetic, eco-friendly micas from shops like Mad Micas or BB are the best, and yield a nicely colored soap!

    Candle Jar Engraving

This is a painted glass candle jar, you can achieve the look by using a stencil, or masking tape to create the message you want, and then painting over it! Once the paint is dry, you can peel away your stencil and then seal it.

Using clay to enhance lemon essential oil

Sounds interesting! I'll have to look into adding clay to one of my recipes sometime, I wonder if it has an effect on the consistency of the soap, or the texture. Definitely something I've never heard of before, I hope you're able to achieve the results you're looking for!

What separates one soap company from another?

You could try making a bath mixture, lotion bar, or maybe a cream! That way the EOs you have in mind can really take effect when used by your customers. Best of luck!

    PLEASE HELP THIS NEWBIE!!

BTMS is a hair conditioner, I'm afraid it won't do much for skin. I would suggest trying your hand at adding specifically moisturizing ingredients in your soap, like cocoa butter, shea butter, or aloe vera. However, since this is a liquid soap I would suggest experimenting with different oils...

If you put essential oils in soap and you use the soap in a hot shower, can you breathe it in?

I'm unsure of the logistics of EO's exact evaporative properties, but I'd say it would have a similar, if not the same kind of effect. For example, I make a lot of lavender soaps, because it has calming properties, (not to mention the insane demand for it in my area), and I don't find the effect...

    The hardest thing about soaping

oh man, for me it's gotta be disappointment from a FO. I always get myself really excited about my sniffs, especially my new ones, so when it doesn't perform or smell how I expected I get a bit mad.

    Measuring for my mold...

you can usually find the volume requirements of your molds on the website of where you bought/buy them! reading reviews can also give you a sense of recommendations from other people who use those molds, (ie if they say they can hold 10 fl oz but really hold 9.5 fl oz better!)

    Cleaning up dispersed colorants stains?

I suggest these directions from SoapQueen's blog! "Spray the mold liberally with rubbing alcohol and allow the alcohol to sit on the mold for 15-20 minutes. Spray again with alcohol and rub off with a paper towel, then give the mold another wash with dish soap and water."

Hey Beginners! What was your first ever soap attempt?

Back in the days of pre-covid (ie 2018), my high school self decided to try a good old melt 'n pour peppermint soap! It was an absolute mess to make, overscented, covered in glycerin sweat, and I loved it. After this, I learned how to properly measure my ingredients and started branching out to...
