Lotion sticks, salves and balm`s in paperboard

I just don’t ship products that may melt in the heat of the summer. If a customer wants something it’s at their own risk. My lip balms and lotion bars ship fairly well as long as it’s not too hot but still a risk.

    First time

Hello and welcome. If you post your recipe we will better be able to help. You shouldn’t have to cook the soap long at all. DdI you run your recipe through a soap calculator for NAOH and KOH?

    Salt bars are too hard

Hello and welcome, I love and make a lot of salt soap. If you searched a lot of information will come up. My salt soap is 80% Coconut, 15% liquid oil (avocado, olive etc), 5% Castor. 50% salt. 18% SF Don’t use self ground pink salt. Only use fine salt (sea, regular salt, pickling salt)...

    Instant mashed potatoes?!!!!

Cinnamon moves fast. And is irritating to the skin. You could shred it and add some to another batch. Your recipe should have plenty of time to work with if using a behaving fragrance.

Trying to mix color with AC

Not quite sure what your asking. However, I make several black soaps with other colors swirled in with it with no issues. I do a black/russet red, black and purple etc.

    How is my recipe looking?

Hello and welcome. You can certainly try your recipe. It will take some time to cure. However, if you have sensitive skin you may want to drop the CO to 10-15%. If your not opposed to animal fat I recommend using lard or you can use palm for a more well rounded recipe that won’t require...

FO becoming too concentrated when splitting for discoloration?

I like lavender marshmallow and I’m not a lavender fan. I use 5% when I leave some, of it Unscented as it’s pretty strong. I use 6% when I don’t and didn’t notice much discoloring if I recall correctly but may have used vanilla stabilizer. It’s been awhile since I made it.

    Attention Patchouli Lovers

I too highly recommend Fragrance Lab. Thanks to Carolyn it’s also the only one I use. It’s amazing. And I sell a lot of it.

@TheGecko My micas have TD listed as well.

    Mixing Micas

I generally don’t pre mix my micas either. I mix as needed. I do premix my TD in water with a ball bearing in the bottle. If I do premix my micas I just do a bit of glycerin or oil. Never done water with micas. Ultramarines I do mix with water.

    DOS - Onions?

I like NG Bite Me though I never used VS with it and it’s retained its colors perfectly. I have tried their stabilizer and sadly found it didn’t work all that well. It does stink to high heaven but didn’t find it carried over after cure. Rancid soap to me smells like old crayons. Not ever...
