Trying to mix color with AC

Im going to make a soap with AC. My original plan was to do just black and finish off my cranberry FO. Then as i was doing dishes i came up with a thought...if i make a nice rich black, can i add a red to it, kind of like that kind of nail polish that you think is black, but then realize its a really deep red, or will it just look black, or just weird.

Not quite sure what your asking. However, I make several black soaps with other colors swirled in with it with no issues. I do a black/russet red, black and purple etc.

I haven't done this, but when mixing paint colors, I find it's better to start with the other color and then add black to it, until you get a shade/tint you like. Otherwise, I have to add way too much of the color to compete with the black.

Unless your mica is very big particle, I wouldn't expect that you could see it sparkling through the black. I know I have some micas that stay shiny/sparkly in CP and I would start with those if I wanted to try this.

What @artemis said. Start with the color first, then add black till you get what you want.
