I have a 4 oz bottle of Lavender Marshmallow FO with 5% Vanillin, and plan to use it in my 2,000 g oils recipe -- this comes to about 5.6% of fragrance.

This FO discolors to a light brown according to some websites.

I'd like to color a portion of my soap batter purple, so if I split my batter and only fragrance 2/3 of it, the FO concentration rises to 8.5% in that portion.

Now, the max usage rate for this FO in CP soap is 9%, but I don't necessarily want to approach that number as I'm afraid it can be irritating or affect the soap's performance.

Any suggestions on how I might go about this?

I like lavender marshmallow and I’m not a lavender fan. I use 5% when I leave some, of it Unscented as it’s pretty strong. I use 6% when I don’t and didn’t notice much discoloring if I recall correctly but may have used vanilla stabilizer. It’s been awhile since I made it.
