What soapy thing have you done today?

BB fragrances Orange: Grapefruit Bellini Yellow: Yuzu Blue: Coastal Rain Brown: Tobacco & Bay Leaf I actually used a mica from Mad Micas called Sea Glass for the blue one. It’s nice to just mix directly into the bowl, but I still love my neons.

What soapy thing have you done today?

Balsam Cedar soap. Used a little bit of charcoal with black oxide. I did add a little bit of black oxide to the green and it was perfect until I added the fragrance. Now it’s more bright green, but I’m very happy with it. I’m very happy that the black didn’t bleed into the green when pouring it.

    Best places to buy colorant?

I know this is old, but I just got dye chips from maple street candle company and they are very nice and so easy to use. No effort at all with them.

Why are my silicone molds warping?

It’s the heat that causes silicone to warm. Some people are luckier than others with silicone molds. I have yet to experience warping of my molds, but my oven does go down to 170F and I turn it off 30 minutes before placing in the oven.

Why do you like making soap?

It allows me to control what I want in a product. I know how I want my soap to feel in my hand and on my skin and I created that with my soap. It also helps with stress.

Does anyone add Titanium dioxide directly to lye water?

I do exactly what @Firefly24 does.

    Dried fruit

Its label appeal for the grapefruit juice and doesn’t really add anything to the soap. It sure looks cool to think there’s juice in your soap.

Hot weather melted my coconut oil

Stir it and use it. It’s still good.

Facial Cleanser for mature sensitive skin?

Use a really good moisturizer on your face that is oil free. Your face is oily because it is dehydrated. I would suggest products that don’t completely strip your face clean. If a product causes a tight feeling or squeaky clean feeling then you may not want to use it. Hyaluronic acid is great...

What soapy thing have you done today?

I take a multi-vitamin daily. My goal is to just wear a mask and try a light fragrance this weekend.

What soapy thing have you done today?

I’ve been dealing with an asthma exacerbation lately, so am unable to make soap until I feel better. I may still try and just wear a mask. I need to make soap!!

I did not realize how weird goat eyes look.

Rice water soap, is it worth it?

    Does rice water smell good?

    Heating pad question

I have a heating pad that tells you the temp and has a timer. It goes up to 149F. I put it on 140 for the max time which is two hours and then do it again. I got it after my mom turned on the oven and melted my kaleidoscope mold. I just wrap it around my mold and then wrap a towel after that...

What soapy thing have you done today?

For about 5-6 years I only had 3 soap molds and a soap cutter. Now I have over a dozen molds. @Barefoot Farm Girl , the Luna swirl is my favorite swirl. I love doing it for any soap.

    Making swirls

You only need a few 3 second bursts and bring the mixture to an emulsion. Your recipe is very unusual as that is a lot of coconut oil and can be very drying to the skin. I’m not sure you need that much castor oil as it may make for a sticky bar. I use up to 15% castor oil but I have about 55%...

Should I buy a new scale?

I have a cheap scale from Amazon. I weigh in ounces and I’m happy with that. It’s not a big deal. Stick with what you have.

What soapy thing have you done today?

HP takes longer to cure just due to the higher amount of water used. There’s really no point in doing a pH test and the zap test only tells you if there is excess lye. Curing isn’t just about water evaporation. The longer you cure a soap the milder it may become as well. I’ve noticed that with...

What soapy thing have you done today?

Still haven’t made soap in about a month. I’ve been lazy and focused on my garden. I need to start as I have some yummy smelling scent and one smells just like tomato leaves! Maybe I should add tomato seed oil to my tomato soap. I kinda want to experiment with luxury oils. I doubt I’ll buy...

    Does this recipe seem alright?

I don’t see anything wrong with your calculations, but the batch is so small and in grams instead of the ounces you wanted. It may be a bit drying due to the amount of babassu oil and may take longer than 4-6 weeks to fully cure. It will also not last very long. You have no hard oils/butters in...
