I’m curious to learn why you use panthenol in your cold process recipe.

I noticed that Bramble Berry has started selling a line of “Natural Fragrance Oils.” I haven’t had time to dig into exactly what they are. Merely throwing this out there because it’s on-topic. Thoughts, anyone?

Then I have great news for you: You can use whatever you want. 😃 As others have said, be sure to buy whatever you decide from reputable suppliers.

I’m glad this is a simpler design challenge. I only participate if I am confident I can pull out a suitable “one and done” entry. This is just simple enough that coming up with a design won’t engulf me and it will still allow me a creative outlet to deal with all the stresses of my non-soap life.

Even if you were selling and others would be using your soap, there is nothing wrong with using fragrance vs. essential oils. If a particular buyer ONLY uses cold process soap made with essential oils, and you prefer making soap w/fragrance oils, then your soap isn’t for them. And that’s ok.

I only use fragrance oils. Personally, I don’t subscribe to the belief that essential oils are “better” than fragrance oils (or vice versa). I enjoy the wider variety that fragrance oils can contribute to my cold process soaps. That said, it’s your soap. Make the soap you want to make.

Coconut oil in cold process soap will make for a highly water soluble bar of soap. Meaning, you will not get that many washes from one bar.

When you say you want a "hard" bar of soap, do you mean a bar of soap that will hold up through several washes?

@The_Emerald_Chicken The colors you chose work so well together. Very pretty! All these fantastic entries give me so many ideas for future soaps, which is one of the things I love about these challenges. I sometimes get in a creative slump. It's nice to see what other people create.
