Crisp corners with lined wood soap mold?

What is the thickness of your craft foam and does it matter if the foam is colored? I'm sick to death of fighting with the darn paper and plastic! Thanks! Kelly

I did it !!! My first Batch

Congrats!!! Those are some cool looking soaps. I really like the shape the mud tray gave them. Neat to see something other than just square. You know, maybe that can be your "signature" shape. Kelly Dawn

Great Article on DOS, preservatives, etc.

Thank you for the article. I've been feeling a bit guilty because I am out of GSE so I have been making my soap without it. I always put it in to stave off DOS but since it doesn't seem to help, I can soap in peace without it. Kelly Dawn

What color for Black Vetiver Cafe soap?

Oh wow!!! Those look great! I didn't think black soap would look so good. I love that STUD stamp. How cute! I wish I had some mica because I like the idea of a silver vein in black soap now that I've seen how pretty it is. :( Bummer Thanks for your help guys!! Kelly Dawn

What color for Black Vetiver Cafe soap?

I recently ordered the oxide & ultramarine sampler from Kelly to begin my foray into coloring soap. I've made many soaps but never intentionally colored one; whatever color the eo, fo, additives & oils gave me, that was it. I intend to make a Green Tweed scented soap and color it (what...

Curing soap in a cold garage/shed in winter

Excellent idea! That would work perfectly in the spare bedroom. I could easily drape the top of the soap with a sheet to keep anything from drifting down on them. Thanks! Kelly Dawn

How to get harder hot process soap?

You can also add a bit of bees wax to make harder bars. Before you spend money on additives though, the best thing is to let the soap dry a bit more. The soap I made HP 3 weeks is much harder than it was 2 weeks ago. And I agree discounting the water is a great way to get harder bars and...

Curing soap in a cold garage/shed in winter

ACK! I hadn't thought about mice. I think I'd rather have cat hair on my soap than mouse droppings. eewww So, I guess I'm off to the garage sales and thrift stores for a old dresser. Thanks for all the help folks!!! Kelly Dawn

    Obama soap

It could be worse... the French were so enamored with Benjamin Franklin that they put his likeness on their chamber pots. They supposedly sold like crazy. It was meant to be a compliment and he took it as such. He found it very amusing that women would be baring their behinds to his likeness...

Curing soap in a cold garage/shed in winter

Hi all, I've been looking through the archives but haven't found any information about this so I'm hoping someone here can help me with this problem. When I made soap years ago I was able to cure my soaps in a closet with louvered doors but we've moved to a different house and my DH has...
