A Productive Week of Soaping :)

I used about a tbsp of clay per pound of oil in the tea tree bar and a little under half that in the colored portion of the spa bar (I only colored half of it). :)

A Productive Week of Soaping :)

I made four batches this week. Small ones, since I'm still learning and trying things out. I'm pretty pleased with how they look and smell so far. Can't wait until they're done curing and ready to use. Thanks for looking! 1. Lemon-citrus scrub bar--lemon, orange, and lemongrass EOs...

Need fragrance ideas for CP soap for men!

My husband really likes anything with mint in it. Spearmint is one of his favorites. He also likes citrusy scents as well. He really doesn't care for many of the man- inspired scents. He seems to prefer more natural, clean ones. Everyone is different. :)

    Measursing Tips / Unsolicited Advice

I'm finding that I prefer using grams as well. :) On a side note, I've found that a dry erase board is an awesome organizational tool for me when I'm soaping. I run all the numbers through a lye calculator, copy the info over to the dry erase board, add on the additives, and stand it up close...

    Basic Face Bar recipe

I have PCOS and the adult acne that comes with it. I had clear skin until about 24, and then it started and eventually became cystic. I tried for years to get rid of it and probably tried every OTC medicine there was. I changed my diet a few years ago, and it helped tremendously (I know that...

    Weird soap question

So I checked it this morning, and it appears to be fine. It was much harder at this stage than the other soaps I've made so far, so it's already unmolded! No zapping, either, so I think I'm okay. I really do like how these turned out. It has a delicate, natural scent to it that I hope stays...

    Orange and Calendula Soap

Yeah...I don't root for either. Or Michigan. Well, that's not true, maybe I root for Michigan a tiny bit. I'm all anti-establishment like that. Hahahahaha. :)

    Weird soap question

I did not add any scent or color of any kind. I wanted to see what the coconut milk would be like all by itself. I'm very glad now that I did! There was no guar gum in the coconut milk-- just coconut and water. I looked around specifically for that when I bought it. I've read several places...

    Weird soap question

I'm sure you're right about the coconut milk causing the heat and the gel. That's all I could think of too. Just surprised since it didn't appear to trace. We'll see how it looks tomorrow. ;)

    Weird soap question

I'm not quite sure what to think of this... Tonight, I wanted to try making soap with coconut milk. When I originally had the idea to do this, I was just going to add the water to the coconut milk, make it slushy, and then add the lye. For some reason, my brain skipped right over that tonight...

    Orange and Calendula Soap

I LOVE citrus. One of these days, I'm going to pick up some ginger essential oils and pair the two. Mmmmm...citrus and ginger... :) Thank you for your comments. I'm extremely new to this, and I'm sure I'll have lots of screw ups, but I'm having a lot of fun. I can only hope to get...

    Orange and Calendula Soap

I'm brand new here...well, new account, anyway. I've been lurking for a long time. I started out making melt and pour soap, got completely addicted to that, and then moved on to CP soap. Even more addicted now. HAHAHA So far, I've done three small batches of CP soap. This is the first one...
