What made you pick your avatar/ username?!

I'm shy  , so let me admit, that my username "zajcek" actually means rabbit. I didn't know what avatar is, until I haven't read this topic. So, now I've chosen black cat from the gallery, because one cute black cat often comes to visit us, especially when he's hungry.

    Soap with zinc?

Hi, does anybody make soap with zinc (ZnO)? I read that soap with zinc should be good for acne, but I'm not sure, if such soap should be safety.

"You can split your batch in 2 and make 1/2, pour then make the 2nd half and pour." Do you have to clean stickblender before making the second part?

Zap test - lye heavy soap?

Jezzy, now I've calculated amount of NaoH with Snowdrift Farm soap calculator. The result for 18 % superfat is 155,8 grams - 5 grams more. It appears that different calculators give different results. I'm not so brave to put my tongue on zappy soap out of curiosity.

Zap test - lye heavy soap?

I'm soooooo happy, ladies (?)! :P But, Jezzy, I have another question about measurement. I'm using SoapCalc and I put numbers: 1000 g coconut oil 18 % superfat, the result was (is) 150,26 g NaOH. I have my digital scale in grams, so I wrote 150 g. Did you have in mind such a small...

Zap test - lye heavy soap?

So, you mean, the soap is usable, but bad taste? If it will be drying on my skin, it would be better to use it for confetti soap with pure olive soap? PS I apologize to you for wrong naming (I read about beer soap, so I name you Carebeer instead of Carebear). And thanks.

Zap test - lye heavy soap?

Thank you, Carebeer, for the answer. But I do not understand the meaning of word "icky", and can't find this word in dictionary. So, please, can somebody explain? I bought coconut oil in the grocery store. On the packaging reads, that is useful till 13. october 2011.

Zap test - lye heavy soap?

Hi, I started to make soap a year ago, so I am still newbie and need advice. I know that coconut oil has drying properties, but I read, that some soapers make 100 % coconut oils with higher superfat (15 - 20 %). So I decided to try and before 2 weeks I made soap from: 1000 g coconut oil 150 g...

    Soccer Fever in South Africa

Thank you for your wishes, Magia Della Luna. We are the second time in World Cup, and this one is the better one for us (till this year we did not win any game). We are small country, just 2 million habitants, so one joke after the game with USA here was: Why nobody supported Slovenia team on...

Have you tried washing your hair with your handmade soap ?

I use my soap for hair too. At the end, I rinse my hair with apple vinegar+ nettle tea. I don't have dandruff any more.
