I think people cook it until it looks "done" I like to cook mine until heavy trace and then just put it in the mold. I love to cook it until gel phase for my beer soap. I like the rustic look :)

I am having the hardest time finding lye! Only ACE has it so far that I have found and they are tiny bottles. Where do you buy your lye? Thanks!
