LIJA - Thanks for being so welcoming, I didn't realize you hadn't been here that long...
Our kids and their stuff...My daughter is 23 and a couple years ago while she was living at home she brought home a nightstand in a box and put it together. In the middle of her project she called me up...
Thanks so much for the recipes...The mosquito population is already high here in LA, so I'm going to make some asap to hand out to friends and family :)
Thank you so much for taking us with on your journey to creating such a wonderful place :)
It will be beautiful and many good memories are sure to follow...
I prolly would not have gotten up the courage to make my first batch had ya'll not given me the support and then ahhhed and ooohed over it like it was something special :) It was so great!
And there was no judgement, like "okay genius, how are you going to unmold them now"...lol..you might...
Time to unmold and because we came to the conclusion at time of pour that our mold was too big we substituted several smaller molds which we did not have time to line...I know, BIG mistake...
So this morning I pulled them out of their molds by using a stainless knife and edging...
It is from the smart soapmaking book :)
Topcat, thanks so much for the advice about the calculator...I have ph strips to make sure that the soap will be consumable..But I will use the calculator for further substitutions....
Thanks for all the support :)
I needed to hear that my soap looked good..lol..I wasn't sure exactly what it was supposed to look like.
As for cutting..I'm not sure...Either cresents or moons..The containers are about three soap slices thick I think..It will be fun deciding what to do though:)
I made the Anne's shea butter supreme soap from her book..
My husband made the Lye solution and of course he had to do things his own way...lol..but it came out creamy and beautiful like butter...
I realized that the mold I had gotten was to big so it ended up in smaller rubbermaid...
